Summary
Kiyora saw too much.
(☉。☉)!→

It was late at night, Kiyora’s favorite time of the day. Unfortunately for his nocturnal self, training in Blue Lock forced him to adjust his sleeping schedule in order to keep up with the vigorous training and the scheduled matches which all took place early in the morning until early evening.

Still, there were times when he.couldn’t avoid creeping through the halls, keeping to himself and enjoying the rare occasions of peace and quiet. At night, when everyone was asleep or confined to their rooms, Kiyora could appreciate the intricacies of the Blue Lock facilities. None of the previous training areas Kiyora had been to were as impressive as this. However, it seems that for the invited international players, this was normal.

Why are you so easily impressed by simple technology, Yoichi? Kiyora heard Kaiser say to Isagi some weeks ago. Is Japan so backwards that not even a football-obsessed clown like you know how to handle this machinery? Well then, I’ll give you the honor of having me as your trainer for today. No way in hell! Isagi had yelled back.

But Kiyora noticed how after everyone else left the two to bicker, both Isagi and Kaiser created their own little space for just the two of them before eventually disappearing when the team started to focus more on their individual training. He was curious. It was none of his business though. He doesn’t want to keep looking back at the duo like Ness does. He sees Kurona and Hiori make occasional glances as well. All of them have a reason to be concerned.

They were close to the two resentful players in question. Kaiser was unknown while Isagi....Kiyora knew of Isagi. Who in Blue Lock wouldn’t? While he never held a proper conversation with the other teen, only giving quiet nods or head shakes whenever Isagi asked him something unimportant, he considered himself amicable acquaintances with the other.

The distance was intentional. If you talked to Isagi, you were bound to be bombarded by other players in the team who had much stronger personalities as compared to the fan favorite in question. It just wasn’t worth the risk. He’d seen the likes of Niko and Barou suddenly have friends after getting influenced by the Isagi Effect.

Still, in each instance Kiyora bumped into Isagi, glimpsed at him in the cafeteria or viewing room, practiced with him during training, and caught him talking among friends but still taking the time to say hi or acknowledge Kiyora’s presence, he had kept those memories like little bits of treasure that were just for him. It couldn’t be helped that he felt a slight fondness for Isagi. Kiyora easily accepted it as a normal response that came with interacting with him. There was probably something in the air of Blue Lock.

While Kiyora has seen Isagi training overtime in the past, he’s grateful Noa has restricted Isagi’s permission to access training facilities at night. It has lessened the already few incidents Kiyora has seen in Isagi. It’s better for his health if he doesn’t see the other teen. While walking to his favorite restroom, which was a good ten-minute walk from where the dormitories of the German stratum were, Kiyora couldn’t help but ponder about the heart of Blue Lock.

Isagi Yoichi was an adept yet unremarkable player prior to entering Blue Lock. Kiyora only worked with Nagi, Barou, Chigiri, and Zantetsu for a short time but within that period, he learned a lot about Isagi from the first three players. Isagi was the player they had lost to Rin Itoshi’s team during the Second Selection. This loss resulted in hours where the three would bitterly complain and curse Isagi’s name for leaving them.
