Chapter 11: The Mysterious Book

Richard's POV

I found myself standing outside Angelo's healer's house, having retrieved his medicine. On my way back to the palace, I remembered the blue book that Angelo had taken from the library.

"That book seems familiar," I thought, pondering deeply. Then it struck me, "Ah yes, that book is magical. You can't see its contents unless you're part of a certain royal family who owns it."

How did I know this? Well, I have a knack for gathering information, especially when I was still another person in a different world. If you're wondering if I can see what's inside the book, sadly, I can't. The only thing I know is that it contains information about kingdoms, their kings and queens, and possibly their powers. Apart from that, I have limited knowledge. However, I heard a myth about the book when I was a child, passed down by my grandmother who raised me.

What I do know is that the book holds a secret. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but rumors say it is truly owned by an empire family that mysteriously vanished in this world. They say that when the rightful owner of the book is found, it somehow comes to life, and you can even converse with it. However, that's just hearsay, but I believe in it because of my grandmother.

Lost in my thoughts, I let out a sigh, until I realized that I had already arrived at my destination.

Quickly, I proceeded to the library and there I found Angelo fast asleep. I noticed the blue book in his hands and attempted to open it. As I suspected, I couldn't see its contents.

I tried waking Angelo, but he wouldn't stir. Soundly asleep, I decided to sit beside him and wait for him to wake up.

After a few minutes

Adrian's POV

I had just woken up when I noticed someone near me. I approached them and said

"Oh Richard you're here already? Why are you here?"

"Oh, yeah, I was waiting for you to wake up," they replied.

"Why? What for?" I asked.

"So I could ask you what you want to eat and make sure you take your medicine and rest."

"Ah, anything is fine as long as I can eat," I said.

"Alright, I'll prepare it for you. Should I bring it to your room?"

"No, I prefer staying here. It's cooler and quieter. Besides, there's more I can do, like reading."

"Alright, wait for me here then. But are you planning to live in the library?"

"Maybe," I said, laughing.

"Well, it's up to you. I'll go ahead and bring your food to you."

"Okay, bye! Oh, wait, can you bring some fruits too?"

"Sure, what would you like? Your favorite, rambutan? Alright, I'll bring some later. I'll leave you for now."

I couldn't help but wonder how they knew about my favorite fruit. I only mentioned it to Sam.
