Chapter 22: Scare (WildEyes PoV)

I looked back at the camp. I felt like I could not help but to be worried. As to the fact that we were in fact leaving them all behind.
I was not too sure why I seemed to be so worried. As to the fact that I knew they weren't the ones going into any danger. As I seemed to hear StormClaw speak to me just as soon as I thought on that.
"We will be fine WildEyes... We will be back here in no time... Don't worry..." She did in fact just seem to say to me, all at once. As her eyes were wide just as soon as she had said that.
I also looked back at her with my eyes wide. As I then went and seemed to blink my eyes a few times. Just as it was that I then also began to start to speak back to her.
"Yeah... I know... But it's not us that I am worried about... I just hate leaving home behind... It always feels like something bad is going to happen..." I did in fact just seem to say to her, all at once.
As it was that I did in fact just seem to shiver as I had said that. As it was that I always seemed to worry about that when we went to gatherings. As it did in fact leave our home and our camp very weak.
I shook my head, as I knew that it was all besides the point. As I then did in fact go and start to hear IvyFur go and speak. As her eyes were also wide just as it was like so.
"Well, you leave the camp every single day to go on patrols... So I am sure that they will be fine..." She did in fact just seem to say to me.
As she then also went and nodded her head back to me. As I knew that she was trying to make me feel better. But it only seemed to remind me where it was that we were going.
I then went and lowered my head to the ground. Just as I went and also spoke back to the she cat. As I did my best to try to stay calm just as soon as it was like so.
"Yeah... But that is just for a little bit... We are going to be gone for several days..." I did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden. As it was that I did in fact go and look ahead of us just as I had said that.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact just been like so. That was when it was that I then did in fact dip my head low to the ground. As it was that I felt like I was freaking myself out.
Just as it was that I had seemed to have been that way. I then all of the sudden heard the voice of StagHawk go and speak back to me. As I then listened as to what he had to say.
"Yeah... The clans are at peace right now, plus we are helping ShadowClan with this too... I am sure that they will be grateful when KettleStar tells them at the next gathering..." He did in fact just seem to say.
As it was that he did in fact have his eyes wide. Just as soon as it was that he had said that. As I felt like he had a fair point on what he had said.
I then all of the sudden let out quite a bit of a rough sigh. Just as I then also nodded back to them all. As I then did in fact go and speak out loud just as soon as it was like so.
"Yeah... I guess that you are right... I am sure this is for the best... It will help all of us... All of the clans..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time too.
As I did in fact go and smile just as I had said that. Though I still had a bit of an uneasy feeling. That it was that I could not seem to shake off.
As I seemed to feel that way for a bit more time. I then all of the sudden began to hear BriarBush speak. As I looked at my deputy to hear what he had to say.
"Yes... It will, and you all need to calm down and focus on the task ahead... We don't need to be worried this entire journey there... Save your journey for the walk ahead..." He did in fact just seem to say.
As he did in fact go and squint his eyes at all of us. Just as soon as it was that he had said that. As he mainly had his eyes on me, never the less.
I kind of just seemed to lower my head to the ground. As I then did in fact also go and let out another soft sigh. Just as it was that I began to speak back to him, at that.
"Yeah... You're right I guess..." I did in fact just seem to say, at that. As the others seemed to look at me with their eyes wide at first.
As it was that they also did in fact go and nod back. As it was that BriarBush seemed to ignore what I had said. And we did in fact seem to keep on moving on our journey.

There it was, as it was in fact quite a bit later in the evening. As we did in fact seem to be in a wooded area. As I did in fact kind of shiver just as soon as it was like so.
I knew that the woods made me feel stressed out. As I knew that I was in fact claustrophobic. Just as I then did in fact go and start to speak, all at the exact same time too.
"I sure hope that we don't have to go through the woods all the way here..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time too.
As it was that I did in fact do my best to focus on what was ahead. Rather than all of the stuff that was surrounding me. As it felt like I was trapped inside a cage right now.
As it was that I seemed to feel that kind of way. I then did in fact go and start to hear BriarBush speak. As he had his eyes wide just as it was that he looked back at me.
"Why not? It's the safest place for us to be out in the wild... There is a big difference between living in the clans and living out here... Trust me..." He did in fact just seem to say.
As it was that he did in fact just seem to bring up the fact. That he had been a rogue in his younger days. Until it was that he had been caught by some two legs in the wild.
After that, it had all seemed to have been history. As he had in fact met MoonStar first. As I then shook my head just as I then began to speak to myself, at that.
"Yeah yeah... I know how the story goes..." I did in fact just seem to say to myself, all at once. As I then did in fact also go and roll my eyes just as soon as I had said that.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact just been the case. That was when it was that I then heard the voice of StagHawk go and speak. As I then did in fact go and listen as to just what he had to say, at that.
"Are we going to stop to hunt? It's getting pretty late out..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time as well.
As it was that he had his eyes wide just as he had said that to BriarBush. As it was that BriarBush did in fact just seem to stop. Just as soon as it was that he had heard the tom cat say as to just what he had said.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact been like so. That was when it was that he then blinked his eyes just a few times. As it was that he did in fact go and speak back, all at the exact same time too.
"You didn't get food before we left the camp? We gave you plenty of time this morning..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
He did in fact seem to shun the tom cat just as he had said that. As it was that he did in fact seem to be hard on him. As I saw StagHawk go and lower his head to the ground.
Just as soon as it was that he had said as to just what he had said. He then did in fact go and look at us all. As I then did in fact hear StormClaw speak just as we all stood still.
"Well... Me and WildEyes ate earlier, so we should be fine... But if we need to stop to hunt, than we understand..." She did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden.
As it was that she did in fact go and nod her head to StagHawk. As it was that he did in fact seem to lower his head. As he realized that he was in fact outnumbered, at that.
As it was that it did in fact just seem to be that way. That was when it was that I then did in fact seem to see BriarBush nod his head. As he let out a rough sigh just as it was that he then began to speak back to us.
"No... It's fine... You all can go out and hunt in groups... I will stay here and set up a camp around some of these bushes..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As it was that he then did in fact go and nod his head to some nearby bushes. As it was that I then did in fact also go and look at them myself. Just as it was that I had my eyes wide, at that.
Just as soon as it had in fact been like so, all of the sudden. That was when it was that I then did in fact go and hear IvyFur speak. As I looked at the she cat just as soon as it was that it had been like so.
"Alright... How about the she cats split up and work, while the tom cats do the same thing... We could learn to work with other cats rather than always depending on our mates..." She did in fact just seem to say.
As it was that she did in fact just seem to look at her mate. Just as she did in fact squint her eyes at him. As it was clear that she wanted me and him to get along.
I felt like that was never going to happen what so ever. As I then did in fact just seem to roll my eyes. Just as it was that my mate then did in fact go and speak, at that.
"I don't know if that will work... I think we would work together better if we did it the normal way..." She did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As it was that she did in fact have her eyes wide as she had said that. As I knew as to just why it was that she was so worried. As I knew that she didn't want to be close to IvyFur.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. That was when it was that I then did in fact go and hear StagHawk speak. As he did in fact have a smirk on his face just as soon as it was like so.
"I agree with IvyFur actually... Plus, you didn't seem to work too well together this morning... Maybe being too close is a distraction..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As it was that I felt like he had a fair point on what he had said. Though I did in fact know that my mate wasn't the reason I was distracted this morning. As it was that I then shook my head just a little bit to my self.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. That was when it was that BriarBush did in fact begin to start to speak. As it was that he had his eyes squinted at us all just as soon as it was like so.
"Well... Figure it out quick, because the sun is setting fast!" He did in fact just seem to remind us, all at the exact same time as well.
He had his head up at the sky just as he had said that. As it was that I did in fact also just seem to look up. As I did in fact go and realize that what it was that he had said was true.
I also did in fact kind of feel a little bit hungry myself. As I knew that I had not ate enough this morning. For the fact that I had not predicted such a hard day for us.
As it was that I seemed to have felt that kind of way. I then did in fact seem to go and step up and nod. Just as it was that I then did in fact go and speak, just as it was like so.
"That settles it then... Come on StagHawk, let's go hunt..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time as well. As it was that I did in fact go and start to blink my eyes a few times just as soon as I had said that to him.
His eyes did in fact just seem to be wide just as I had said that. As it was clear that he was surprised by just what I had said. As he then did in fact go and look at his mate for just a few moments at first.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. I then saw her go and nod her head back to him. As it was that IvyFur did in fact also go and speak back to him too.
"Alright... That works... Let's hurry up..." she did in fact just seem to say, all at once. As she then did in fact go and walk over to StormClaw, all at the exact same time too.
StormClaw seemed to have a worried look on her face. As it was that I did in fact also just seem to see her shiver. As it was that IvyFur didn't seem to catch that what so ever.
I felt like they were going to do just fine together, all at once. Just as it was that I then turned my head over to StagHawk. Just as it was that he then did in fact go and speak to me at that.
"Alright... We where are we headed off too?" He did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden, at that. As it was that he did in fact have his eyes wide just as he had said that.
It was clear that he was giving me permission to decide where it was that we were going to go. As I was a bit surprised by it, all at once. But I also kind of felt like I was okay by it, none the less.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. And I had seen IvyFur and StormClaw head off the other way. That was when it was that I then did in fact begin to start to speak back to the tom cat.
"The other way from them so we don't interfere with them... Hopefully we can catch a clear area to hunt..." I did in fact just seem to say to him, all at the exact same time too.
As it was that I did in fact just seem to shiver as I had said that. As I knew that as much as I didn't like the woods. I did in fact also know that it was a struggle to hunt in them.
As it was that I just seemed to have thought on that. That was when it was that I then began to hear StagHawk chuckle for whatever reason. As I looked at him a little bit confused, as I then also heard him go and speak back to me.
"Yeah... Good luck with that... I don't think there is open land anywhere close by us... At least not from the scent that I am catching..." He did in fact just seem to say.
As it was that he did in fact seem to lift his head up. Just as soon as it was that he had in fact said that. As it was clear to me that he was in fact sniffing the air, all at once.
Just as soon as it was that he had seemed to have been that way. That was when it was that I then began to do the same as he was. As I did in fact go and speak out loud as I realized what he had said was true.
"That sucks... I really don't like hunting in these woods..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at once. As it was that I did in fact go and look all around me just as I had said that.
As it was that it felt like the walls were caving in around me. As I did in fact just seem to squeeze up tightly as I had focused on that. As it was that StagHawk seemed to be lost as to just what was wrong with me.
As it was that he did in fact seem to blink his eyes a few times. That was when it was that I then did in fact go and shake my head. As it was that I then did in fact also go and hear him speak back to me, at that.
"Well... I'm pretty solid with hunting around trees... So maybe I can catch a couple of things before it gets too dark for us..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As it was that he had said as to just what he had said. That was when it was that I then did in fact begin to start to go and nod. As it was that I then did in fact just I then spoke back to the tom cat as well.
"Alright... That works for me... I hope I can at least be some sort of help... Don't want to just be given stuff..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time as well.
As I knew that I was long past the days of being a kit. As it was that he did in fact go and nod his head back to me as he understood. As he seemed to be a bit more calm now that he wasn't focused on attacking me.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. He then did in fact go and seem to stop himself. As it was that he looked up at the sky just as he spoke to me.
"I smell a squirrel... It's over this way..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time too. As it was that he did in fact go and nod his head in front of me just as soon as he had in fact said that.
As it was that he had said as to just what he had said. I then did in fact seem to sniff the air. As it was that I did in fact seem to track the unfamiliar scent that he brought up.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. That was when it was that I then did in fact go and shake my head back at him. As it was that I spoke back to him as I had my focus on something else.
"I've never caught a squirrel before... I smell a mouse over there... I think I should head that way while you go for that squirrel if you think that you can catch it..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As it was that I then did in fact go and nod my head the other way. As to just where it was that I did in fact smell the mouse at. As it was that StagHawk did in fact seem to have his eyes grow wide as it was like so.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact just been the case. That was when it was that he then did in fact go and blink his eyes. As he once again spoke right back on over to me.
"Well... I could try to teach you if you would like... It is quite a hard prey to catch, they are fast and agile fellows..." He did in fact just seem to say about the squirrels.
As it was that I did in fact seem to think on what he had said. As it was that I felt like maybe it wasn't a bad idea. Though I also didn't want to give him the glory and bragging rights about him teaching me to hunt.
I did in fact go and shake my head back at him, all of the sudden. As my eyes seemed to be wide in innocence. Just as it was that I then did in fact go and speak back to him.
"Maybe some other time... I am hungry, and time isn't on our side... I think we should just both get our own prey..." I did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden.
As it was that I had said as to just what I had said to the tom. He did in fact seem to be a little bit disappointed, all of the sudden. As it was that he lowered his head to the ground just as soon as it was like so.
However, he also did in fact go and nod back to me. Just as it was that he did in fact seem to speak back to me. As I did in fact go and listen as to just what he had to say.
"Fair enough... Let's meet back up over here so we can head back to the camp without freaking everyone out..." He did in fact just seem to say, never the less.
As I knew that he had a fair point on what he had said again. As I knew that it would worry our mates. If it was that us 2 rivals showed up without the other one.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. I then did in fact go and nod my head back to him. As I did in fact go and speak back to him as I was turning my head away.
"Sounds good to me... See you in a bit StagHawk..." I did in fact just seem to say to him, all at once. As it was that I did in fact go and calm myself down as I had said that.
Just as soon as it was that I had in fact been like that. He then did in fact seem to go back to his true nature. As he did in fact seem to be grumpy just as he muttered back to me.
"Yeah... See you I guess..." He did in fact just seem to say, all at once. As it was that he did in fact begin to go towards where his squirrel was at.
I then did in fact begin to go to where my mouse was at. Just as it was that it had in fact all been like so. As it was that I did in fact do my best to try to stay calm. Just as it was that it had been like so.
As it was that I did in fact seem to get myself on the scent. I then did in fact go and spot the mouse from closeby. As I stopped just as I then spoke to myself quietly.
"A mouse... Now a mouse I can work with..." I did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden. As it was that I did in fact just seem to lower myself down as I had said that.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact just been the case. I then did in fact go and squint my eyes at the mouse. That did in fact seem to be minding its own business, at that.
As it was that I did in fact seem to focus on it, all at once. I then did in fact go and nod to myself, all of the sudden. As it was that I did in fact go and speak to myself quietly again.
"Alright... Now!" I did in fact just seem to say, all of the sudden. As just as soon as it was that I had said as to just what I had said.
I then did in fact just seem to shoot out like a bird. As it was that I went right for my target. However, it didn't seem to work out too well for me.
As I immediately heard a snap on the ground all of the sudden. As I realized that I had stepped on another stick, all at once. As I did in fact curse to myself just as I drew closer to the mouse, all at once.
"Oh! What in the name of StarClan?!" I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time too. As it was that I was quite a bit upset at myself for what I had done.
As I had noticed that it had in fact alerted the mouse right on me. As it then looked right at me as I seemed to run right towards it. As it then did in fact let out a squeak just as soon as it was like so.
It then did in fact begin to start to run and try to hide from me. As just as it was that it had seemed to have got close to its burrow. I then did in fact jump right at it, as I held my breath just as I spoke to myself.
"Not today!" I did in fact just seem to say, all at once. As I did in fact just seem to barely managed to jump on the mouse just before it had made its way down.
I did in fact seem to feel quite a bit lucky just as it was like so. As I then did in fact go and shake my head quite a bit to myself. Just as it was that I then did in fact go and speak to myself, all at once.
"That was way too close for comfort..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at the exact same time too. As it was that I did in fact seem to catch my breath just as I had said it.
As I seemed to stand there and stare at the mouse for some time. I then did in fact seem to go and lick my lips. As my stomach seemed to grumble quite a bit, at that.
I thought about eating the mouse right here, all at once. But I also did in fact know the warrior code. As I then shook my head to myself just as I spoke to myself too.
"No... I can hold off for at least a little bit longer... I need to make my way back to StagHawk before he freaks out... His squirrel was closer than my mouse..." I did in fact just seem to say, all at once.
As I knew that it had made sense as to why he had smelt that first. As it had been different for me. As I hadn't focused on the scent that had not been familiar to me.
As it was that I did in fact seem to lift up the mouse into my mouth. I then did in fact go and make my way all the way back to the spot. As it was that I did in fact go and speak to myself just as it was like so.
"Alright... This shouldn't bee too difficult..." I did in fact just seem to say to myself, all at once. As it was that I did in fact go and roll my eyes a little bit just as soon as it was that I had in fact said that.
Just as soon as it was that it had in fact just been like so. I then did in fact do my best to try to act as calm as I felt like I could. Just as it was that I then did in fact seem to hear some noise from close by.
I then did in fact just seem to stop, all of the sudden. As it was that just as soon as I had done like so. I heard a loud voice go and speak to me, all at the exact same time too.
"Oh! There you are WildEyes! I was worried about you for a moment!" He did in fact just seem to say. As I did in fact jump back in fear as he had snuck up on me like that.
As it was that it had in fact just seemed to have been like so. As I knew that I was not yet at the place that we had said to meet at. I then did in fact just seem to shake my head.
As I looked at the larger prey that he had at his paws. As it was that I seemed to look at it for some time. I then did in fact go and squint my eyes at him just as I spoke back to him.
"Yeah... I said I was going to meet you back there! You didn't have to give me such a scare!"
