Blake

As I sat with Jack, trying to focus on the conversation about the next drag race, my mind kept drifting back to Kiara. I had been trying to reach her all morning, but she wasn't answering her phone, and the worry gnawed at me like a persistent itch.

Jack's voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present. "Hey, Blake, you gonna be ready for the race this weekend?" he asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

I nodded absentmindedly, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of Kiara. "Yeah, I'll be ready," I replied, trying to sound more confident than I felt.

Jack studied me for a moment, his gaze probing. "What's going on with you, Blake? You seem distracted," he observed, his voice laced with concern.

At first, I brushed off his question, insisting that nothing was wrong. But as Jack continued to press me, I found myself opening up to him, telling him everything that had happened between me and Kiara.

To my surprise, Jack listened attentively, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief. "Wait, you mean to tell me you haven't...?" he trailed off, his eyes widening in surprise.

I shook my head, feeling a pang of guilt wash over me at the reminder of Kiara's innocence. "No, we haven't.I don't want to rush anything," I explained, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

Jack nodded thoughtfully, understanding dawning in his eyes. "I get it. But I never thought you could control yourself," he said quietly.

But then, his expression grew more serious as he mentioned Lex. "Have you told Lex about all this?" he asked, his tone grave.

I hesitated, feeling a knot form in the pit of my stomach. "No, I haven't," I admitted reluctantly, knowing that I should have been more upfront with my best friend.

Jack's expression darkened. "You need to be careful, Blake. Lex isn't going to sit back and watch you hurt one of her friends," he warned, his tone leaving no room for argument.

I nodded, feeling a sense of unease settle over me at the thought of potentially jeopardizing my relationship with Lex. But deep down, I knew that I couldn't keep hiding the truth from her forever, and I would have to find a way to come clean before it was too late.

Kiara

As I lay in bed, thoughts of Blake swirling through my mind like a whirlwind, I was suddenly jolted awake by a faint tapping sound coming from outside my window. Frowning in confusion, I got up to investigate, my heart pounding with anticipation.

To my surprise, I saw Blake standing there, her silhouette illuminated by the soft glow of the moonlight. Shocked and slightly incredulous, I opened the window and whispered, so as not to wake my parents, "What are you doing here, Blake?"

With a mischievous grin, Blake began to climb up onto my porch, her movements fluid and effortless. "I couldn't stay away," she whispered back, her voice tinged with amusement.

I couldn't help but marvel at her audacity, even as a rush of excitement coursed through me at the sight of her. "How did you even find out where I live?" I asked, still trying to wrap my head around the situation.

"It's amazing what you can discover when you have the right connections," Blake replied cryptically, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

As she took in my appearance—clad in mini shorts and an oversized hoodie—her gaze lingered on me in a way that made my cheeks flush with heat. "Fuck! You're making things hard for me, Kiara," she remarked teasingly, a playful glint in her eyes.

In response, I gave her a playful punch on the arm, unable to suppress a smile at her antics. "Oh, please," I retorted, rolling my eyes. "You love the challenge."
