Kiara

I woke up to the delicious aroma of breakfast wafting through the air, the scent pulling me out of my slumber. Blinking sleep from my eyes, I sat up in bed and saw Blake bustling around the kitchen, a warm smile on her face as she flipped pancakes on the stove.

I couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards her. It was moments like these that reminded me of how lucky I was to have her in my life.

As I got out of bed and made my way to the kitchen, I found Blake standing by the counter, dressed in a simple vest and basketball pants, a look of excitement on her face.

"Good morning," she greeted me, her eyes lighting up as she saw me enter the room. "I made breakfast."

I smiled back at her, feeling a sense of warmth spread through me. "Thank you, Blake," I said, my voice filled with genuine appreciation.

As I took a seat at the table, Blake poured me a cup of hot chocolate and set a plate of pancakes in front of me. I took a bite, savoring the delicious flavor, and couldn't help but marvel at how lucky I was to have her.

But as I finished my meal, Blake leaned in close, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Hey, pequeña reina, I want to show you something," she said, her voice filled with anticipation.

Curiosity piqued, I nodded eagerly, eager to see what she had in store for me. "Okay, let's go," I replied, a smile spreading across my face as I followed her out of the kitchen and into the unknown.

As we drove through winding roads lined with lush greenery, I couldn't help but wonder where Blake was taking me. The anticipation built with every mile, and soon, the landscape began to change. Palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, and the air felt warmer and more tropical. Finally, we pulled up to a secluded area, and my eyes widened in amazement as I saw a small, modern house with sleek lines and large windows, nestled amidst the vibrant foliage. A white BMW M4 gleamed in the driveway, its sleek design hinting at luxury and sophistication.

Blake parked the car and turned to me with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "What do you think?" she asked, her smile widening as she took in my astonished expression. "Does the house look good? I'm planning to surprise someone."

I stepped out of the car, still in awe, and took in the serene surroundings. "It's wonderful," I said, my voice filled with genuine admiration. The house was like something out of a dream.

Blake chuckled and handed me a set of car keys, house keys, and an envelope. Confused, I took them from her, my heart pounding with curiosity. Opening the envelope, I found a letter inside. As I read the words, my eyes widened in disbelief. It said that my college tuition was fully paid off.

"Blake, what is this?" I asked, my voice trembling with emotion.

Blake's grin grew wider. "The car and the house are yours, Kiara. Consider it an early birthday present."

My mind reeled, overwhelmed by her generosity. "This is too much," I protested, shaking my head in disbelief."Already you letting me stay at your place is enough."

But before I could say more, Blake scooped me up in her arms and carried me inside the house. Her strength and warmth enveloped me, and I couldn't help but laugh as she effortlessly led me to the bedroom.

"Don't worry," she said playfully, setting me down on the plush bed. "If you don't want it, you can sell it if you want it is all yours."

I looked up at her, my heart swelling with love and gratitude. "You're impossible," I said with a teasing grin, before pulling her down into a kiss.

Blake grinned against my lips, her hands gently cradling my face. "Just accept it," she murmured. "You deserve this, Kiara."

As I kissed her again, my heart felt lighter than it had in weeks. We lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I had never known before.

Blake

Two days after giving Kiara the house, car, and paying off her college funds, I came home from soccer practice utterly exhausted. My muscles ached, and I longed for nothing more than a hot shower and some rest. As I approached my mansion, I noticed Lex's Audi A3 parked out front, and a small sense of unease crept in. Lex , but her presence here without warning was unusual.

I stepped through the front door, already rehearsing a greeting in my head, when I was met with a sharp, stinging slap across my face. Shocked, I staggered back, my eyes meeting Lex's furious gaze.

"Lex, what the hell—?" I began, but before I could finish, she shoved her phone in my face, showing me a picture of Kiara and me making out in what I thought had been a private moment.

"You promised!" Lex shouted, her voice trembling with anger. "You promised you wouldn't date one of my friends again!"

I felt a wave of guilt and defensiveness rise within me. "Lex, I can explain—"

"Betrayed? You betrayed me, Blake," she interrupted, her eyes flashing with hurt. "How could you do this? How could you go behind my back like this?"

I took a deep breath, trying to keep my own emotions in check. "Lex, Kiara and I... it just happened. I didn't plan for this. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Lex's face twisted with pain and frustration. "I don't care if it 'just happened.' You knew how important my friends are to me. You knew what this would do."

I opened my mouth to protest, but she cut me off again. "If you break Kiara's heart, Blake, if you hurt her in any way, you and I are done. Don't ever talk to me again."

Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. Lex had always been my rock, my confidante, and the thought of losing her over this tore at my heart. "Lex, don't do this," I pleaded, my voice barely above a whisper.

She shook her head, tears glistening in her eyes. "Out of the people I have known you should be the most familiar with how betrayal feels like."

With that, she turned and walked out the door, leaving me standing there, my cheek still stinging from her slap, my heart heavy with regret and fear. I watched her go, the weight of her ultimatum settling over me like a dark cloud.

As the door closed behind her, I sank onto the nearest couch, burying my face in my hands. Lex's words echoed in my mind, and I couldn't shake the feeling of pain I felt . But as much as I cared about Lex and valued our relationship, the thought of giving up Kiara was unbearable.

I needed to find a way to make this right, to prove to Lex that Kiara and I could be together without causing any harm. But for now, all I could do was sit there, caught between the love for my cousin and the growing feelings for Kiara, wondering if there was any way to reconcile the two.
