Well, Ladies and Gentlemen,

if you know of the game series Valkyria Chronicles than you should also know the futile attempts of many people to write a story about how those autocratic easteuropean forces invade our world but fail.

But here I am... will I succeed in atleast more chapters than any average failed valkyria book, or will I perish and fail miserably? Who knows.

But first; where is the gate and how did they managed to get there? And when is it beginning?

Well, shall we?

In 1935 EC, the continent of Europe is dominated by two superpowers: the autocratic Eastern European Imperial Alliance, better known as the Empire, and a community of loosely allied democratic states known as the Atlantic Federation in the West. The economies of both powers depend on the valuable mineral ragnite. A growing shortage of the resource leads the Empire to launch an aggressive invasion across the Federation's eastern border, sparking the Second European War.

Unable to match the Alliance's military superiority, the Federation is forced onto the defensive. Emboldened by its successful and rapid advance, the Empire decides to open a second front, invading the neutral Principality of Gallia, a small area of land in northern Europe. This small principality, once a historical landmark in the Darcsen Calamity and its history of the once-living Valkyrias, humans with superpowers capable of wiping out entire cities, had a large Ragnite ore deposit beneath its pastures. While mining cities were established, the Ragnite ore had yet to be fully exploited.

During the invasion, the small Gallian militia force mobilized in a desperate attempt to stop the invasion on the eastern borders was completely routed by the fierce enemy, forcing them to retreat further into the country and beyond the great river that cuts through the nation, where their military headquarters, maintenance, recreation, and training facilities were established to defend their last line of defense against the onslaught of the autocratic Eastern Army. The capital city of Randgriz was in imminent danger, but the Gallians vehemently prevent any breakthrough on the great river and mountain side, sometimes losing hundreds of conscripts from the militias despised by the military commanders.

Maximilian Gaius of Reginrave, an ambiguous 29-year-old crown prince (second in line) and strategist with a cunning mind, played his cards close to the vest:

One Valkyrur. A being that had once ruled over the world, destroyed the evil Darcsens, banning them to an endless slavery through generations, had returned. Many thought that was a hoax that their ancestors had made up for naughty children, but yet they faced one of them at the battlefield. And they paid in their blood to finally see one.

She alone, with her mystical powers and her lance, destroyed dozens of militia battalions and routed the once passive military force. Now that they had broken through the meager border defenses, they occupied a large swath of Gallian land, shackled the Darcsen living there, who were already under hard labor by their former landowners, and secured the vast amount of Ragnite ore that was just waiting to be mined.

Though they still have problems with an unknown unit that apparently doesn't exist on paper, harrassing them in the occupied territories but those hit and runs don't severly hurt the mighty army of the empire. They have enough manpower and assets to pull from to plug any feeble holes that were made.

And with the corruption in the lines of Gallian regular army and with rumours circulating of an overthrow of the government and secure an unequal deal with the Atlantic Federation, and their ineptitude for heavier armament with only a quantity amount of light tanks produced, the war is surely secured. All of the ragnite mines were captured, the local garrisons wiped out and all Darcsen of Gallia were quickly redirected towards them to mine the precious resource for further fueling the war machine. After all, the Darcsen are merely cogs in the war machine. If one is broken more are available.
