With Isara confined to a hospital bed for an unforeseen time, Squad 7 was like a candle without a flame. Captain Varrot approached Welkin with the news that the entire militia would be moving in to retake Bruhl. She also introduced Kreis, who would be joining Squad 7 as their new tank mechanic and operator. Kreis used to work in the research and development facility as a maintenance engineer, but was now the newest member of Squad 7. He would be responsible for the maintenance of Edelweiss in Isara's stead.
It had been approximately five months since Welkin and Alicia had fled from Bruhl. The mixed emotions they felt upon seeing their hometown served as a painful reminder that the only other person who could have shared in their nostalgia was no longer with them. Welkin knew that Captain Varrot meant for this mission to inspire strength in Welkin and the others, so he was determined to win back their home with his own hands. For five months, the windmill in Bruhl had remained in its miserable state, the once proud symbol of the town only half standing in the town square. Despite its condition, the Imperial forces found the windmill to be a valuable vantage point for snipers, and even as the militia fought to retake Bruhl, the windmill was once again forced to serve in the Empire's favour.

At the outskirts of Bruhl both the Militia Squad 7 and the Panzergrenadierbattaillon 212, assisted by a Platoon of Leopard 2A8s from the Panzerbataillon 37, are tasked to liberate the border town of Bruhl from Imperial control. It was decided by Gallian Command that the Militia would divert the attention of the Imperial Garrison by attacking through the main route that leads directly towards Bruhl's windmill. Meanwhile, the German forces are to pincer attack the Imperials by destroying the supply lines and encircle the interior force.
With Isara out of action, Kreis, who had previously worked in the research and development department of Gallia's military, designed and completed weapons and passive kits for both tanks and infantry. Since the introduction of the German military into the Second European War, he had accelerated research and development under the guidance of soldiers (Gallia) reports on how the otherworldly weapons functions similarly but are built, designed and constipated differently, now sits in the driver seat of the Edelweiss.
There were some hilarious accidents like him nearly shredding the gearbox while going uphill, ending with both Gallian and German soldiers pushing and two Pumas and one Recovery Vehicle (Dachs) towing the medium tank up the hill. Soon thereafter one of the engineers gave him a crash course on driving lesson, due the soldier being a retired driving instructor.

In Bruhl, the Lieutenant and Sublieutenant were appalled at how the city seemed to have decayed from the five months of absence and Imperial control, strengthening their resolve to liberate their hometown from enemy control.
As they passed the destroyed final defense of the former Town Guard (the Gate of the first mission in-game) and engaged the the Imperial force, they were suddenly met with both armor (tanks) and snipers at every corner. Stuck between the destroyed gate and the sudden thrust of enemy forces, Lieutenant Gunther quickly went to his radio and asked for help.
"[Semmel, this is Squad 7.]"
"[Here Semmel, copy.]"
"[We are under heavy fire and my infantry is suppressed by sniper fire and multiple hidden foot mobiles in house corners and wrecked homes.]"
"[Copy that, what kind of assistance do you need?]"
"[With the heavy armor against us I can't send my tank forward to cover my snipers and my snipers are already locked in a close quarter combat with hidden infantry. Is it possible to send a flying eye and help us identifying ambush points?]"
