"So what you do for a living?" Terrell, the man Jada and I peeped at the bar earlier, asks me as I swing back and forth in the barstool, in between his long legs. In order to hear each other over the blaring music, we have to sit closely. So close that I can feel his warm breath tickle my neck and I allow him to rest his hand on the area where my thigh meets my hip.I smiled at him, biting my lip and I briefly looked over at Derek, where I left his ass at. It's obvious Javonte dragged him out tonight because he's not even trying to be social, still at the booth slumped and looking miserable as hell. I saw him looking over in my direction, but I just flicked my hair over my shoulder.
My night is starting to turn out okay because it's refreshing to interact with someone who seems genuinely interested in my career. Not like my ex, Malik who only wanted to talk about himself and nothing else. After a while his intentions became clear and I was ready to call it quits.
"I just started a business a few months ago, catering for events. Next stop is a food truck."
"Oh yeah?" He said, impressed and I nod happily. "That's straight. So you must be a good cook then."
"Mhm." I replied. "Did three years in culinary school to make sure of it."
"A'ight, shorty. I see you."
Terrell pulls back some so that he can look at my face again. His lips look so succulent the way he licks on them. His goatee accents his face and lips so well, and his eyes start to rake over my body.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to fuck him. It's Friday night and Jada's already pushed the idea into my head. The idea that it's okay to have some fun in between my busy work schedule. Shit, I'm grown. I owe myself at least that.
I glance at Jada and Javonte. They're still on the dance floor, Jada finding time in between getting her neck sucked on to stop and share an excited gaze with me. She's waving her hand up and down, like she's secretly nudging for me to make a move.
So I unlock my phone, and slide it over to him, pressing my thumb on the Add Contact button. The screen illuminates our faces brightly. "Why don't you put your number in?" It's a bold move on my part, but I've already had three shots of whiskey and I'm starting to feel frisky. I need this. "Maybe you can come over in a lil' bit."
Terrell chuckles low with a nervous, but sure look on his face. "As long as you cool wit' it," he says with a touch of flirtation in his voice, taking my phone and starting to punch in his number.
"Did you come here with someone?" I ask.
"Yeah, my nigga Nooch. But he left earlier." Terrell says, stopping his typing to look at me. I bite my lip some more. "I was about to leave, and then I saw you sittin' over here all by yourself. I just had to say something, you so beautiful."
I blush a little at his words. "That's sweet. Oh and thank you for the drinks, I forgot to say that earlier."
"No problem, it's the least I could do," Terrell replies and I look back at Jada. I can tell that she's squealing inside and I wave her off while Terrell's still busy on my phone. When he hands it back, I see his name followed by a flirting emoji. "A'ight, so Imma see you in a few?"
