Aviana's POV
I'm sitting in my history class, bored out of mind, as I look out the window. The leaves of the trees are shifting slightly from the cool wind in the air. Beautiful clouds are littered across the sky and it causes a soft smile to grace my lips. I always loved looking at a beautiful sky, I admired how the white, puffy clouds stood out in the periwinkle sky. The bright sun cast through the translucent puffs and onto the healthy grass. The thing I love most about the sky's the clouds. Sometimes, the clouds look so absolutely perfect, you would've thought it was a painted picture instead of reality.
Suddenly, a hasty voice cut through my mind:
'Aviana, there are intruders in the territory. Your mother is already in the safe house. Alpha says you need to get there as well immediately. He thinks they know about you and your mother.'
That was enough for my smile to instantly drop and my fists clenched of their own accord.
'What the hell do you mean there are intruders in the territory? Is my father alright?' I asked through the mind-link, my heart already pounding with panic as I thought of the worst.
No one was supposed to know about me or my mother so the possibility that these intruders may know something sent cold shivers running down my spine. I gave a pointed glance to the teacher up front, who nodded her head in approval. Since the entire school was filled with werewolves, the teachers knew about the danger me and my mother were in if anyone else were to find out about what we were. Plus the teacher was already informed that something had happened that would need me to report to the safe house.
Suddenly, my father's Beta wolf voice cut in: 'All we know is that there are three unidentified male rogues in the territory and you need to get to the safe house. Now. Your father is handling everything.'
My eyes darkened to a dangerous extent and I could feel fire burning at the very core of my being at the thought of someone trying to land their filthy paws on my father.
Without letting anyone know, I let the anger consume me and I closed my eyes. As soon as I reopened them, I swear my skin glowed with anger radiating off of me when I saw that someone had the audacity to hold a gun up to my father; the Alpha of the largest pack in North America.
And then, I snapped. I let rage take over and pushed my conscious away. My hand shot out, just as my father screamed "No!" as soon as he saw me.
But I was too hell bent on rage and anger to really care. In an instant, both my father and the intruder were frozen on the spot. I saw him struggle to move in his spot, but it was no use. Walking in front of the man, his eyes finally flickered to me, and surprise flashed in those dark brown pools of his.
In my state of rage and anger, all I could focus on was the thought of him trying to kill my father. There would be no way in Hell that I would let something like that happen. He would have to get through me first. My lips pulled back into a threatening sneer.
"Who the hell are you?" My voice came out dark and deadly, unlike my usual calm and bubbly one that was full of life and love.
"Avi," I heard the distant voice of my father. His tone full of nothing but warning and authority. Except, with my conscious gone at the moment, nothing was going to stop me.
The man stayed silent, his gaze centered in on my eyes.
I bit my lip, feeling outraged at the fact he wasn't listening to me. As my lips curling back into a sneer again, I made my right hand abruptly shoot up; all the while keeping my gaze locked with his.
