Xavier's POV

NOT EDITED

"So let me get this straight," I stressed pacing back and forth. "Not only did I die, but my fucking mate died as well and the only reason that it happened was because the spell killed her. And that sent us both into this weird dreamlike realm where I was able to see her and she could see me. But then for some reason her heart began beating again and now she's not dead.. So I'm not dead. That's what you're saying, right? That whatever my mate goes through, I go through too and vice versa." I rushed out, stopping to glance at Danny.

He nodded. "Pretty much. I mean I really don't know why the spell had that effect on her in the first place but yeah. Look at least you are both alive." He shrugged

I gave him a glare and clenched my fists together, attempting to calm my rage. But it wasn't working. The only thing that I kept hearing over and over again was "my fucking mate died." She died. She was dead. Her heart stopped beating. Her blood stopped flowing. Her oxygen left her body. She was dead.

It didn't matter that she's alive now. It matters that she died.

I let out a ferocious growl and slammed my fist into the wall. My canines forced themselves out and I could feel the sprouting of hair begin to protrude from my skin. My wolf was on the brink of shifting.

Danny flinched and Max walked up to me, moving me away from the wall before I could cause more damage. I was absolutely livid! And enraged.

'She's mine!' My wolf snarled angrily.

'Ours,' I corrected. She's ours. And by damn am I going to just sit back and let that shit happen again.

There's something wrong. There has to be something wrong with my mate. If a simple location spell like that had the power to kill her... it just didn't make any sense. She's a werewolf. A simple spell like that shouldn't have that effect on her. So what the hell is wrong with my mate?

"Look man," Max cut off my thoughts and I turned to look at him. "I think you should go for a run you know. To let your wolf roam free for a bit and calm down. You probably need it right now and not to mention your eyes are pitch black and I think Danny is secretly about to shit his pants."

I couldn't help but to breathe a laugh at that comment as I glanced towards Danny's fearful eyes. The poor pup looked so afraid that I could already tell his first instincts were to run and he was even readying himself for it.

I don't truly know why so many people in this rogue pack of sorts fears me but I'm in no way complaining. It's better to be feared than fear anyways.

I blinked my eyes rapidly, trying to push ym wolf back and tell myself that it was alright and I didn't need to let him out just yet. But he was pushing just hard. And so I finally loud a low growl and turned to Max, nodding my head. "Alright. You're right. You're right. I'm gonna run around the border. If there are any disturbances you better tell me." I looked him straight in the eye, fully knowing my eyes were a pitch black again. He didn't flinch. He held my gaze and nodded confidently.

Then, I swerved my head and glanced at Danny. The boy had already left. He definitely needed to learn how to stand up for himself. Sooner or later he was going to face a situation where he would need to fight off his attacker and his first instinct was to run he would be a goner for sure.

The thought made me wonder just what the pup had gone through before he came here. Most of rogues here were all cast out of there pack and were craving vengeance against their old Alpha. Danny, however was a completely different story. No one truly knew anyone here. But we all knew the reason why they were here and had a pretty good guess as to why. But now that I think about it, I really couldn't understand why someone like Danny would be here. He had next to no fighting experience and always had his nose in a book.
