Xavier's POV

Edited by@ Dragon_Shield

My wolf was growling lowly, threateningly, as he felt his mate's own agony wash throughout him. I myself was clenching my fist to stop me from breaking the damn witch's neck. Had I known it was going to cause my mate this much pain, I would've said to hell with it and find some other way to locate her whereabouts.

Max, obviously sensing the anger radiating off of me, stepped into my line of vision, purposely blocking the view I had of the all-too-eager-to-please dark witch who was casting the spell. She was mumbling incoherently and her eyes gleamed when the globe began to reveal an image of my mate.

She was in some sort of dark place- a cave, maybe. The scenery was filled with dirt on the ground and rock walls surrounding every inch of the globe, from what I could see. She was seated on a rock, seemingly comfortable in her own thoughts.

But then, just as soon as I saw that content smile upon her lips it was gone as a pained expression took over.

She was on her knees, clutching her hair as tears dribbled down her cheeks. This time, I did growl lowly in my throat at the sight.

"I swear to Goddess-" I began, but was cut off by Max gripping onto my arms.

"Calm down! You're the one who wanted to find her! She said it would only last a little bit until she can pinpoint her exact location. You wanted this." And I was regretting every second of it.

A scream tore through my mate's lips and her skin glowed a bright white, her eyes flashing a silvery hue. In seconds, there were dozens of people swarming into the same place as she. Two people in particular caught my eye.

"Avi! Avi, baby, what's wrong?" The Luna's eyes shined a frightening emerald green when they took in her daughter's state.

"Oh my Goddess," the Alpha mumbled, running his hand down his face.

My mate didn't talk back. She opened her mouth, as if she wanted to say something, but another scream ripped through her mouth. Everyone in the room covered their ears, including Max and Danny, and we weren't even really there.

The Luna took a hold of my mate's arms and stared into her eyes. The silver color hadn't left and I knew my wolf was about to take control from the anger that was consuming him because this was the dark witch's doing.

You did this to her! My wolf growled angrily.

I clenched my jaw and cursed softly when my heart began to let out a painful lurch that throbbed with guilt. It was my doing. I wanted it.

"Son of a..." the Luna trailed off. Rage took control in her eyes and she clenched her fist tightly.

"What? What is it?"Alpha Alexander asked, rushing to both of their sides.

"I know a witch's work when I see one." She growled out softly.

The Alpha's eyebrows rose, as did mine. "You're saying...."

"This is a dark witch's doing. But I don't think this is the effect they were expecting. We have to get her out of here." The Luna said, and clutched onto my mate's arms again, pulling her up with her. Aviana let out another ear-piercing scream and started scratching at her wrist.

"Ma-make it stop! Make it stop! It hurts!" I fell to the ground on my hands and knees, breathing out in short pants. I couldn't handle it. This was fucking hell not being able to do anything for my mate! I swear, I'll rip this witch to shreds if she lets my mate suffer through another damn second of this!

"Darling, what are you-"

"She going to shift Alex! The fucking witch was hoping for a location spell but Avi's different. The pain is pushing her wolf out to the surface to protect her human body. She's about to shift. We need to get her out, now!"

It seemed like the Alpha didn't need anymore explaining. He scooped up his daughter in his hands and rushed out of the room. Everyone began scrambling after them with shock written on all of their faces.

Then, just before I could see where they were taking my mate, the globe went black.

"What the fuck just happened?" I growled, the hair on the nape of my neck prickling with the familiar sensation that my wolf was at its brink.

The witch shot me a sarcastic smile with pride gleaming in her eyes. "She's in the deepest cave in North America. It's in Hawaii and called the Kazumura Cave. That's a whiles away from Wyoming now isn't it?" She chuckled, her eyes flashing a sinister red color.

My wolf got the best of me. I was in front of her within seconds and had her pinned to the wall by her throat. Fear coursed through those eyes of her's and my wolf howled with joy at that. Then, without blinking an eye, I snapped her neck and was satisfied when I heard the snap her neck made, before she fell to the ground limply. Her eyes were closed and her skin glowed a crimson red. Then, the flesh on her body started to disintegrate until only her skeleton was left. But it wasn't long before her bones turned to ash and they were swept away by the wind.

My wolf wasn't at all that satisfied with the quick death. He wanted to torture the wretched creature. Wanted to make sure she felt every little bit of pain she caused his mate, and then some. He didn't want her to just experience a quick and easy death.

I let out another low growl and turned, punching the wall. My fist left a deep indentation in the cement wall and I felt the anger in me slowly simmer down. But the rage was still there.

Right after we learned that my mate's pack had to be involved with witches, Danny located a dark witch who could cast a spell and tell us where my mate was. She only said that my mate would feel a little bit of pain during the spell, but I know that the screams that came from my mate's lips were nowhere near do to a little pain.

"Alright, I'm confused. "For the first time in a few hours, Danny spoke.

Max and I turned to look at him, my breath still coming out in short pants, waiting for him to go on.

"She's seventeen, and has Alpha blood in her system. She was supposed to shift at the rough age of twelve while all of the other female wolves shift at fourteen. Why on earth is she just now shifting?" He questioned. I too furrowed my eyebrows in thought.

Max shouted,"Seriously, what the hell is she? That's it! I quit! I am so done with this pack and their secrets. I'm moving to Alaska!" Finality dripped from his words and he started to walk, but I shot my hand out and pushed him back.

"Shut the hell up and hold on a minute." By now my breath had gotten back to a seemingly normal pattern and I was stood up straight again. No one questioned me. Smart men. My wolf snarled, still enraged at what he saw moments ago on that damned globe. Add that to the fact his mate was no where near us was just the icing on the cake!

After I had explained to Him that someone "tipped" off the pack and that they were all gone, He had gone crazy. His office was a in a chaotic mess with chairs and desks and papers strewn about. When he calmed down he made Danny track down the dark witch to find the pack. All we had to tell her was a first and last name, the gender, the title of the person, and the pack they were from. As soon as I said it was Aviana Simpson, female, daughter of the only Alpha and Luna of the Silver Crescent Moon Pack, there was a dark gleam in her eyes.

Of course I didn't know what the evil gleam meant until just moments ago.

"So," Max interrupted me from my thoughts,"we going to little ol' Honolulu or not?"
