Beau had been on cloud nine all night and into Tuesday. Even the stern talking to he had from his manager at the library or the fact that he was heavily penalized for his late assignment couldn't bring him down.
He was having dinner with Toby and David. It was light and fun, even with David who was in some kind of a funk.
Toby was trying to convince them to come traveling with him after graduation.
"Nah man." Beau shook his head. "Besides the fact I don't have any money, I'm already applying for jobs. I need to be able to join as soon as something becomes available."
"Dave. My dude, what about you?"
David shrugged. "I don't even know if I'm going to graduate. I might need to do another teaching period."
"You guys suck."
"How about a compromise?" Beau suggested. "Let's do a weekend away."
It was easy to give that, they were still months away from having enough credit to graduate.
Beau turned to David. "If you need help, let me know."
David grunted.
They were interrupted by Beau's phone ringing. His heart leapt seeing it was Bianca. "Excuse me."
He hastily got up from the table and practically ran to his room.
"I assume that's the chick," David said.
Toby just chuckled. He liked seeing his friend so happy.

"Hey," he said happily.
"Hello." Her voice was a balm for him. He sighed hearing it.
"How's it all going over there?"
"Yeah good, getting some good progress... that's kinda why I'm calling," his heart clenched- he could hear her trepidation. She continued, "I'm not going to make it back tomorrow as planned."
"Oh." He couldn't help the disappointment colouring his voice. "When then?"
She hesitated. "I don't want to say and then not make it again."
"We're talking days though, yeah? Not weeks?" He clarified, concerned it would be the latter.
"Days," she answered quickly. "There's no way I can wait longer than that."
He smiled at her evident need to be with him. It boosted his confidence, he was sure she felt as intensely as he did. There had been more than one point in their time together where he had felt overcome, none more than when they had made love in the shower. He had felt like he needed to do more to prove his love and dedication. Tell her he loved her. Asked her to marry him, to have his babies. It had been so all consuming. Whatever his body wanted he hadn't done it and he'd felt incomplete without it.
"Can you video call?" He asked. He needed to see her.
He could hear her smile in her voice as she agreed and they both turned it on. He felt a peace settle over him seeing her face. She was wearing a high necked sweater. He wanted to see his love bite on her and indicated with his hand.
She grinned and placed her phone down, propping it, so he could still see her, and pulled her sweater over her head. He took a moment to be blown away by seeing so much of her flesh, her glorious chest bare. She leant forward and bared her neck. The love bite had faded more than he would have thought after only one day.
"It's almost gone already."
"I heal quick."
"I miss you," Beau offered.
