Beau shook his head. "I said no way and I mean it. I don't know anything about your Goddess but I know that you are mine and I'm not letting you go. This just helps explain that I'm not being crazy for wanting to marry you practically from the moment I met you."

She blushed a little bit. "You want to marry me?"

"I want everything with you. I just felt like I needed to tie you to me anyway I could- arg, that came out wrong. I want to prove to you how I feel and have the whole world know as well."

She shifted in his lap a little. "We have a way to do that... It's called marking."

He raised an eyebrow. "Marking?"

She nodded. "It's different for different species but essentially it's a physical imprint to connect our souls- to complete the connection."

He was thinking through that and perhaps some of the words she had used with him before. "How is it done?"

"For vampires it is through a bite- a special one at the right moment. Different to when I drank from you. It will leave a mark on you and bind us."

"And you were going to do that tonight?"

"If you allowed me?" She felt bashful, self conscious that he wouldn't want it.

"And the tattoo for you, is my mark on you."

She nodded, "Humans can't mark back," she explained. "But I wanted a physical thing. I liked what you did with my bite and I wanted to do something like that."

"Do you still want to mark me tonight?"

"It feels all a little too rushed now."

He shook his head. "I love you and want to be with you forever. Mark me. Whatever is needed so everyone knows I'm yours. I've already spoken to my sister- she can do your tattoo on Sunday."

She nibbled on her lip. "I'm worried you don't understand what you're agreeing to- that you'll regret it later."

"Will it turn me?" He asked

She shook her head. "No, that's not how- you can't really turn someone."

"Will it hurt?" He shrugged as soon as he said it. "I don't care if it does."

"It'll hurt but it should also feel good... at least it's supposed to when otherworldly beings do it to each other." She took a breath. "If you learn things about me later... you can't reverse it- at least I don't know of any way to do it that wouldn't mean excruciating pain or-"

"I told you, you're it for me." His expression was so open and honest. He believed it wholeheartedly.

"Humans aren't supposed to feel the matebond."

He shrugged, "I don't know what is expected of a matebond, but I love you and I want to be with you. I'm going to guess there's going to be a lot of things we don't actually understand about each other but we will learn- and I hope that you see, or start to see, humans differently- because I'm going to guess you haven't thought much about us previously."

"You're right."

"So how do we do this?"

She shook her head in amazement. He wanted her still. He wanted her mark and to mark her and prove his claim.

She tentatively kissed him- he responded to the kiss immediately, guiding it to be deep- his mouth moving to open her lips and teasing her tongue out.

She felt a wildness unleash in her and she started to paw at his clothing, needing to have no barriers between them. She hoped he wouldn't regret this but her need was too great to stop now. Not when he had given her permission.
