Aarav's POV:
I can't get her out of my head, no matter how hard I try. She's like an addiction, driving me crazy with every thought.
"Aarav, those cameras are successfully set up on your phone," Chirag said and I just nodded. I unlocked my phone to activate them when he hit me with, "Why the hell are you doing this?"
"What is it to you?" I shot back, playing dumb even though I knew exactly what he meant.
"Cut the crap," he growled. "I know it's your personal deal, but it's gonna screw the company too."
"My company" I reminded him, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, your fucking company" he scoffed, seeking an explanation.
"Exactly. So whatever loss it faces, it's none of your damn business," I retorted.
He leaned in, getting serious. "Seriously, no we gonna do this? Think about yourself. You're taking a big risk going against HIM, especially just because of that girl. I might be your employee here but outside- I'm your only friend. And I don't want her dragging you down."
"Are you finished?" I seethed, my anger bubbling over. "And don't you ever talk about her with such disrespect."
He stared me down, but I didn't back down. "Don't."
It's been two days since we last spoke, since I caught a glimpse of her, breathed in her scent, felt her touch, tasted her lips. The emptiness weighs on me and I can't shake this desperate craving for her. Every moment without her feels like an eternity, and the obsession grows stronger.....
When I got home and was heading to my room, my father was there on a call. My aunt was helping set up dinner. She's been so quiet since my uncle's death. I felt sorry for her but not for him. He deserves it. He was a jerk, a monster just like my father.
Here come the little kids! Running towards my aunt,"Mummaaaaaaa , Mumaaaaaa , he's teasing me," said Riya, while the other one, Ankit, was still laughing. They're both only 8 years old . And then they come running towards me, "Aarav bhaiyaaaaaaaaa" they both screamed together. Ah God, I love them!
"Where are my chocolates?" asked Riya, while Ankit stood quietly.. "You guys should be more aware, huh?" They both started looking around for chocolates. A smile came on my face, and I said "Check the refrigerator, kiddos" patting their heads and they both ran towards the kitchen....
As I walked towards my room, a voice suddenly pierced the air from behind "Sana Rathore! Ahnn."I spun around to face my father, his smirk sending a shiver down my spine.
"What, did you forget her? Or should I repeat that name again? Fine. Sana Rathore, daughter of Naina Rathore. Such a pretty girl she is, isn't she?"
"Don't you dare utter her name ever again, you hear me?" I growled.. "I don't give a damn about your sick games. You mention her again and I'll make sure you regret it"
" Seems like someone's got a soft spot for her?" he said.
I fixed him with a stare. "You're dead wrong. Let me make it crystal clear" I snarled. "I'm not some guardian angel; I'm her protector. She's under my wing and that means you keep her name out of your fucking mouth. Cross that line and you'll beg for mercy you won't get. Understood?"
"Whoa, so all that info was right? Are you kidding me?" he exclaimed. "That girl was behind those viral photos of me? She's the reason you lost your most important deal? She's after us, after me and after our family... and you're actually protecting her? Seriously?"
" Suddenly this family is yours? When you always used 'us'...When did you start caring about my company? About my dreams and goals? When? Wow such a bad actor you are Mr. Chauhan "
" I don't care about your point of view son! I've never did and I'll never do ! Let me be very clear this time : "She'll regret coming in my way!! I'll destroy her "
My eyes turned with rage and I warned him: Touch her and you'll wish you never did. Lay a finder on her and you'll be facing me. I won't hesitate to make u pay!
Sana's POV:
As I sat in my cabin, the weight of my own actions felt like a lead weight pressing down on me. What the actual hell is happening? I let Aarav get close, let him in, despite everything. Why did I let him touch me like that, kiss me? Even if he's not involved in this whole mess, he's still the son of my biggest enemy. The one who made my childhood a constant struggle for validation and attention...
But damn it, there's something about him. Something that draws me in despite all the warnings flashing in my mind. Is it his eyes? The way he looks at me like I'm the only person in the world? Or maybe it's the way he makes me feel, like for once, I'm not alone in this cold, ruthless world..
Yet, I can't shake the nagging feeling of betrayal. Betrayal to my family, to everything I've been raised to believe. How could I let myself fall for someone like him? Someone who represents everything I've been taught to despise?
But as much as I try to bury these feelings, they keep clawing their way back to the surface. And until I figure out where I stand with Aarav, I'm stuck in this endless loop of doubt and confusion.
I can't shake the memory of that night, the way Aarav caged me, as if he was trying to protect me from the world. The way he whispered "breathe" in my ear, his voice both comforting and commanding. And then, after kissing me with such intensity.....
It's insane to think that he would go to such lengths for me. He didn't just give a warning; he took out 32 guys without a second thought, all because of me. But why? If he's supposed to be this heartless mafia guy, why does he care? Why go to such extremes for someone like me? It doesn't make sense, and yet, it's all I can think about.
The way he spoke those nasty words...[" I wanted to have you right here, right now and right in this bed ... Angel."]
It sends shivers down my spine. It wasn't just what he said, but how he said it—his voice filled with darkness that made me feel uneasy. It's like he knows how to make me feel scared and excited at the same time. And even when I try to forget, I can still hear those words echoing in my mind, like a creepy song that won't stop playing...
The way Aarav warned that guy in the bar...[ You touch her again, and I will make you regret it in ways you can't even imagine. You don't want to test me."]
I couldn't help but wonder what happened next to that guy. Did he beg for mercy? Did Aarav even listen? It's a scary reminder of how ruthless this world can be, where one wrong move can cost you everything.
The damn surprising thing is, he messed up just by touching me. But I give zero fucks about that brat. I'd have taken him out myself. I know I'm the devil in my world. What puzzles me is why the hell Aarav gives a damn about my life. Why the hell does he even bother?
Why does he get under my skin when I don't want him to?
_______________________________________________________________________________SPOILER:
" Why does she hate me when all I can do is try to love her with everything I have?" He murmured in a very low voice while his hand trailing over her portrait, his eyes glued to it like a predator stalking its prey... "I crave her even though she's poison to my soul"
His eyes were red, completely drunk.. He was showing the portrait to someone unaware of the fact that the girl in the portrait was standing right behind him. Witnessing him in his drunk state... she couldn't contain her emotions and whispered softly "I hate myself for not being able to hate you anymore."
