Aarav's POV:

{ Flashback 1 }

"Come here," a lady called softly and calmly to a five-year-old boy.

He took small, careful steps towards her, his hands folded behind his back like an obedient child.

She was smiling, her eyes filled with tears, as if she had just escaped from a nightmare. Her lips were slightly bleeding, but she still smiled as if she had seen the most beautiful sight in the world.

The boy walked up to her, and she knelt down so he could easily see her face. She ran her fingers through his hair and asked, "What's your name?"

"Mam said no talking to strangers," the boy replied, taking a step back.

The lady chuckled.

"Hmm, that's a big problem then. Okay, I'll tell you my name, and you tell me yours, alright? Then I won't be a stranger to you."

The boy looked at her, feeling strange because he had never been treated with such affection before. He nodded with a small smile.

"My name is Nandini Chauhan," she said, extending her hand for a handshake.

The warmth in her eyes made the boy smile. "Aarav," the boy replied.

Nandini smiled and brushed his hair gently.

"From today onwards, your full name will be Aarav Chauhan."

{ Flashback 2 }

"Stop it, Vikram. You're drunk, and our son is watching all of your harsh actions" nandini shouted.

"Our son?" Vikram looked at the boy, who was now six years old, and walked towards him. The boy was afraid of him and started crying.

He stood still, knowing what was coming and preparing himself for it.

Vikram grabbed him by his t-shirt and forcefully took him to the storeroom. The boy was crying and screaming for help, "leave me. I don't want to go there."

Vikram dragged him across the floor, and the boy's face and elbows got wounded every time they hit the ground.

Vikram closed the storeroom door and took off his belt. The boy sat on the floor, no longer crying because he had realized over the past year that once he was in a closed room with his adoptive father, there was no escape.

The boy sat on the floor, pulling his knees close to his face and covering them with his small hands with his head down.

The only sounds came from the room were the harsh, rough hits of the belt and the little boy's screams of pain.

After some time, Vikram came out of the storeroom, and Nandini ran towards the boy. Without wasting a second, she hugged him tightly.

She was crying, but he wasn't.

And that's when he whispered something-

"Don't worry, Mumma. Your Aarav is becoming stronger day by day.

{ Flashback 3 }

Nandini was busy decorating the house as today was someone's birthday. The whole mansion was decorated and lit up.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang, and Vikram arrived with a gift in his hand.

He hugged Nandini, and a little boy, now ten years old, came into the room.

He smiled at the decorations, as this was the first time in five years that Vikram had decided to celebrate his birthday. The boy wore his favorite new outfit and eagerly awaited his gifts.
