The girl awoke to the sound of metal clanking as a machine began to start up. The girl gasped as she cough up water, feeling as though her lungs were on fire. Her breathing quickened as she looked around at the suffocating box that she was in, the girl could have sworn the walls were closing in on her. The blonde made the mistake of looking down seeing nothing except bright white lights glowing and utter darkness beneath. She was too high up to see the bottom. Her breathing fastened at the thought of the thin metal cage plummeting to her death. The girl let out a sigh of relief as the sun's raise and fresh air flooded the box. A boy who looked a little older than her with short hair jumped down into the box slightly startling her. The girl crept her way out from the corner, the sunlight slowly shining onto her as she came out from the shadows.

"Holy shit..." The boy whispered as he noticed the girl.

"Uhhh hi" She mumbled awkwardly.

"Gally, What is it?" a voice shouted, making the girl realise the boy in front of her was called Gally. Something about that name seemed familiar to her but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"It's a girl." Gally shouted up, looking at the person infront of him, confused on what was happening. In his two years being stuck in the Glade there had never been a girl.

"A girl?" People began to question and the group broke out into an endless chorus of words.

"You think she's hot?"
"He's got to be joking."
"No way there's a girl."
"I call dibs?"
"I've never seen a girl before"

The blonde could only make out parts of the conversations from above, none of the words seemed to do anything to settle her nerves but she knew she had to remain strong anyways.

"Are you going to keep staring at me or are you gonna help me out from this death trap?"

"All of you slim it and bring over the ladder!" Gally called up, the chatter immediately died down coming to an almost complete stop.

"Thanks." The blonde sent the boy a small smile as she began to climb the ladder. "Woah" She gasped overwhelmed by the amount of boys surrounding her, not a single girl in sight. Her flight of fight response seemed to kick in. The girl began to run, her blonde hair flying in the wind as she did so.

"We got a runner."

"On it" Minho grumbled in annoyance before taking off in a sprint after the girl who was shockingly faster than he had expected. The blonde came to a stop as she entered what seemed to be a maze. She looked cautiously at her surroundings: the ivy crawling up the huge grey stone walls, the dull shadows that engulfed the walls that towered over her. A loud screech was her final straw. "Absolutely not." She whispered to herself and span around to walk back out of the maze only to see an asian guy with black hair and brown eyes looking at her as he gasped for air.

"If all girls are like this then i'm not sure I like them." The boy said in between breaths.

"What the fuck is this place?" The blonde girl demanded answers.
