The van came to a stop, the gladers all stumbling out of the vehicle in amazement. The Right Arm wasn't much but it's the most the group of teens had seen in a while. There was a large collection of make shift tents, made from different materials along with other recourses.
Ariella noticed the sudden change in Brenda's breathing, the short haired girl gasping for air, her skin dangerously pale. "Hey, I got you." Aria smiled, but concerned filled her eyes as she subtly helped Brenda. Harriet and Sonya, led the group to the leader, Vince, saying that he was the one who would decide if we could stay.
"Who are they?" Vince asked Harriet.
"They're immunes." The tanned woman answered. "Caught them coming up the mountain."
"Did you check them?" He asked. Anxiety bubbled up inside of Ariella as she glanced at Brenda leaning on her. Brenda had a thick coat of sweat dripping down her face, her lips darkened.
"I trust Aris"
"Well, I don't. Check 'em." Vince ordered, disagreeing against Harriet's opinion. Brenda let out a loud gasp as she fell forwards, knocking Ariella down with her as her body went limp.
"Brenda! Brenda!" Jorge panicked, not realising the girls state sooner. Jorge lifter her up, cradling her in his arms.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She panted, still struggling for breath.
"What's going on with her?" Vince asked, kneeling down next to them.
"Jorge." Ariella spoke gently. "She infected." Aria whispered to the older man, looking at the bite mark on her leg.
"Crank! We got a Crank!" Vince alarmed everyone, standing up quickly and drawing his gun out in her.
"No!" Jorge shouted, shielding Brenda's body with his own.
"You don't want to do that." Aria warned him, stepping in front of Jorge and Brenda. "This only just happened, she isn't fully turned yet."
"You shouldn't have brought her here!" Vince yelled in Arias face. "We let Cranks in here now, the safe heaven doesn't last a week. Get out of my way."
"I'm not moving. I understand that you're trying to protect your people but that's all I'm doing." Ariella reasoned.
"I told her that you could help. There's got to be something you can do." Thomas pleaded.
"Yeah, there is." Vince said, giving the teens a moment of hope before he cocked the gun. "I can put her out of her misery."
"No! No!" Jorge shouted, fighting against the men holding him back.
"You're not killing, Brenda." Ariella said firmly as she stepped closer to the gun. The weapon was now pointed up against her chest, blocking the shot from hitting Brenda.
"Aria, what are you doing?!" Minho protested at his crazy girlfriend.
"She's being Aria." Gina muttered, knowing that in the short time she's known the blonde that she would do anything to protect others.
