Chapter 4: Date

AIAH'S POV

I'm here in the parking lot, waiting for Al to arrive. Nauna na umuwi sila Maloi. I'm riding with Al, so I waited for her near her car.

I saw Mikha approaching the parking lot with three girls, laughing together.

Nong makalapit naman ay napansin naman nila ako. I greeted them with a smile and they smiled back.

"Oh Ai, kanina ka pa?"

I just hummed in response, still looking curiously at the girls with her.

Napansin naman n'ya ito and introduced me to them.

"Oh, by the way, she's Aiah, my best friend. Aiah, they're Colet, Gwen and Jhoanna, we're blockmates," she introduced.

Ngumiti naman ulit sa'kin ang tatlo and they hand their hands.

Nakipagkamay naman ako, they look harmless naman and cool, hindi naman mukhang flings ni Al judging the way they dressed.

"Hi, sure ka bang bestfriend lang kayo ni Miks?" Asked by the girl who's wearing eyeglasses.

Naubo naman si Al sa tanong nito.

"Stupid, best friend ko 'yan, issue mo." Sagot ni Al.

Her ears are turning red, probably because of the heat.

She's kind of sensitive when it comes to sun heat too.

"I'm just making sure, mukha kang babaera eh." The girl with short hair replied.

"Is there a possibility that you're not straight?" The other girl asked flirtatiously.

"Fuck off, dude. Don't flirt with my best friend, una na kami." Al said, a bit irritated.

The three girls just laughed and waved goodbye.

Sinundan lang namin sila ng tingin.

"Already making new buddies, huh? That's good." I said, making Al look at me and smile gently.

"Yeah, they're cool," she answered as she opened her car door for me.

After we both settled in Al started the engine, parehas kaming tahimik.

I observed Mikha.

She could be pretty and handsome at the same time, so I can't blame the girls who keep flirting with her because she really has the looks.

She's also talented, funny when she wants to be, and smart.

Sometimes I wonder if she ever likes anyone seriously, although she claims to be in love.

I think she just says that as an excuse.

any girl who catches her attention would be lucky.

I heard my phone beep, and I smiled unconsciously, thinking it was probably Jeremy.

However, to my dismay, it was my mom.

"May family dinner pala tayo this coming weekend." Sabi ko sa katabi ko na tahimik na nag mamaneho.

"Yep, my mom texted me and asked me to bring a date." Naiirita n'yang sagot.

Natawa naman ako, masyadong minamadali ni Tita na mag dala ng babae si Al sa kanila kaya she hates it pag may family gathering kasi parati s'yang kinukulit ng mother n'ya.
