--------The wedding day--------

Bella's POV:

Finally, it was the day I had dreaded the most: my wedding day. I woke up at 6 in the morning and showered, changing into my clothes. Then, I headed to the salon. My wedding dress had been packed by the maids in a suitcase, already placed in the car boot. My makeup was minimalist yet pretty, a style I surprisingly liked. Afterward, I changed into my wedding dress.

Slipped on my heels. They were quite high because, as usual, "the great Daniel Parker" was much taller than me.

I was quiet nervous because, after all, it was my wedding day. There wasn't a single guest from my side. They did invite my father, but why would he care? It's better that he didn't come. He's the man I hate and fear the most. He made my childhood miserable. He's the cause of my panic attacks, the reason I can't trust any guy now.

Soon enough, I found myself outside the wedding hall. I walked towards the door and waited for it to open.

As the doors opened, I stepped inside, my heart pounding with a mixture of nerves and resignation. The hall was elegantly decorated, but I couldn't find it in me to appreciate the beauty of the scene. This was a marriage of convenience, a transactional union rather than a celebration of love.

Daniel stood at the altar, his expression unreadable as he watched me approach. We exchanged terse nods, acknowledging the gravity of the situation without a hint of warmth or affection.

The ceremony proceeded with solemn efficiency, devoid of the usual romantic flourishes.

Priest: "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Daniel and Bella in matrimony. This marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but with sincerity and understanding."

Bella: reciting her vows "I, Bella, take you, Daniel, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."

Daniel: reciting his vows "I, Daniel, take you, Bella, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."

The rings were exchanged with a sense of obligation rather than joy.

As the priest announced, "Now you may kiss the bride," Daniel's demeanor shifted. His posture straightened, and a determined glint flashed in his eyes. Without hesitation, he reached out, gently grasping Bella's chin and tilting her face up to meet his gaze.
