Bella's POV:

I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't have said that... I've made him angry. I'm scared. It's alright, it's alright. Calm down. Breathe in, breathe out.

If he wants, he can shoot me in the head without thinking twice. I shouldn't test his patience. Hell no, he killed a man, a whole human being.

What now? The guy is dead; he won't come back, no matter what. What am I trying so hard for? Probably planning to meet that guy in heaven.

A knock on the door made me flinch, but I sighed with relief when a maid entered with a tray of food.

"Here is your breakfast, ma'am—"

"Bella, it's Bella. No need to be so formal," I told her.

She smiled, nodded, and continued, "Sir sent you breakfast, Bella"

"You can keep it here; I'll have it," I replied. She nodded again and left the room. I sat on the bed and ate my breakfast quietly. I don't want to face him anymore. I'll just stay in this room, probably forever.

Daniel's POV:

I played with my food, thinking about the person I had just yelled at, regretting my decisions. But for now, I should give her some space.

Lost in thought, I pushed the food around my plate, my appetite fading. I got up and went to change into my office clothes. I wore a black coat with a white shirt underneath. Before exiting the mansion, I asked one of the maids, "Did Bella eat?"

"Yes, sir," she replied.

"Make sure to give her dinner on time. I'll be home late," I ordered.

She nodded and bowed. Then I left for my company to sign off on some deals.

I am always well-focused on my work, but today was different. I was in the office, but my mind wasn't present. I could see people moving their mouths non-stop, but I couldn't hear a thing. My mind was only on one person: Bella.

"Enough," I growled, irritated by their incessant chatter.

"I won't sign the deal. The idea is bullshit." I threw the file and left before they could open their irritating mouths again.

In my cabin, frustrated, I ran my hand through my hair. Damn, I couldn't concentrate at all. I had canceled six deals so far. It was 7 in the evening now. I wanted to go home but, at the same time, I didn't. I decided to spend some more time working in the office. Finally, I got so focused that I didn't notice the time passing. It was already 11.

I got up, grabbed my coat, and walked toward my car. When I reached home, I asked one of the maids if Bella had dinner. She nodded, and I went to my bedroom because I didn't have an appetite.

I changed into shorts and went to bed.

Although Bella and I haven't shared this bed for long, I've gotten used to sleeping while hugging her. I just couldn't sleep without her; it was very annoying. I twisted and turned in every direction possible and even tried hugging a pillow. The night passed without me getting a wink of sleep.

I got up and changed. Today, I had to go to a secret base where we manufacture bullets. I needed to check if everything was in place.

I went downstairs, had a cup of coffee and two eggs, and ordered a maid to give Bella breakfast and inform me later. I got up from my seat and drove to the base.

As I arrived at the secret base, the guards immediately recognized me and let me in without hesitation. The facility was hidden in an industrial area, away from prying eyes. I walked in, feeling the weight of my sleepless night, but determined to stay focused.
