Not Just Fan Service

stage 23: hope

Jisung didn't think too much about the Toy World fanmeeting until a couple days later when he started seeing posts that people were sharing on TikTok. There was something about one specific post and how it appeared that Jisung was only trying to do fanservice as he interacted with Minho, but the older was busy being blinded by what the fan had called, 'soulmatetism' to really feed into the said fan service in the moment.

Jisung then looked up the 'minsung' tag on the app after that, wanting to see what else had been posted. There, thankfully, wasn't an overwhelming amount; and most of the ones he saw didn't affect him too much. However, there was a video from day 2 that did something to the young producer's heart. Every thought in Jisung's mind left the second he read the caption, watching the video on repeat while being unable to recall what skit it was they were doing at the time it took place. He reread the caption once more, 'but why does he look down at Hannie's lips?'

Jisung rewatched the video again. And then again. And again. Watching the older's movements. The way Minho raised his hand to place it gently under his chin and the way Jisung moved away because of his nerves. The way Minho's eyes dipped right before he lifted his hand at all. By the time he was ready to part with the video, Jisung had come to the conclusion that maybe just maybe the fan was right and Minho was actually maybe probably looking at his lips. And that conclusion made Jisung wonder if that was fanservice or not since there was really no reason to look at his lips. Jisung figured that was a little much for what was supposed to be just an act. A show.

So, the following day when they had all gathered in the practice room, Jisung kept an eye on the other male across the room as he talked with Hyunjin and Jeongin as they stretched. Minho laughed in a way that enchanted Jisung, the producer tilting his head as he analyzed the other's mannerisms. Felix noticed Jisung and chuckled lightly as he asked, "do you want some binoculars or something?"

"Huh?" Jisung asked, but before Felix could repeat himself, the younger's question registered in his mind, "no, I don't."

"You sure? You're not even blinking," Seungmin chuckled from the other side of the foreigner, "we've been watching you for like- two minutes."

"Creeps," Jisung joked with a sigh as he stood upright, finishing his stretches, "but in my defense I..." the male trailed off since Seungmin wasn't aware of the plan he and Felix had made. Wasn't aware of the fact that he and Minho had kissed. Felix wasn't even aware of the fact that they'd kissed on more than one occasion. And neither of them were aware of just how badly Jisung craved another, "okay, nevermind I don't have a defense. I just... I don't know."

"You're down bad," Felix chuckled, "but I'm not teasing, I think it's cute."

"Oh, I'm teasing," Seungmin nodded, raising his hand a little, "I think it's fun."

Jisung chuckled lightly before Chan called for them to begin practice. As he walked over and got into position, he caught Minho's eye who ended up sending him a wink in the process. Jisung bit back a smile until the music started, and he got himself to focus.

The producer felt Minho's eyes on him throughout the song the first time, but tried not to think too far into it since he figured that was only because Minho was keeping an eye on everyone to make sure they all were doing the proper moves. But his mind wandered when he still felt Minho's eyes on him through the second round that followed. Was Jisung doing something wrong? If he was, why wouldn't Minho say something before they started the second time? And why didn't he say anything when the song stopped again? It wasn't until the song concluded for the third time that, because he still felt Minho's gaze, he looked over and allowed their eyes to meet, tilting his head as they did. Minho chuckled and Jisung could only guess it was because of the way he looked. Suddenly standing up straight, Jisung shrugged slightly to himself as he walked over to the older as he asked, "why are you laughing at me?"
