The next day during practice, Minho laughed at something on his phone as Jisung walked by and he paused for a moment, looking at the older male who was smiling as he typed away, causing the younger to furrow his eyebrows as he then continued walking towards the rest of the group at a much slower pace, leaving Minho to his own world.
He pretended to listen in to whatever it was Hyunjin was explaining that Jisung couldn't figure out how to pay full attention to. He was confused about what he'd seen with Minho. The older one wasn't someone to do such a thing on his phone. Not even when the two of them would message each other from across the room during movie nights. And yet, he'd been on his phone a lot that day, acting the same way during each break they took.
When Minho chuckled again, Jisung looked over, eyeing the older for another second before turning back to the others, catching Felix's eye beside him and shrugging before the younger asked him, "hey, you okay?"
"Yeah, just..." Jisung trailed off as he glanced back at Minho, "I don't know."
"Are you jealous that he's looking at his phone like that?" Felix asked, tone initially teasing, but then it changed since he realized that if Jisung actually was, it wasn't fair to tease him.
"Why would I be jealous?" Jisung asked, looking down at his feet as he swayed back and forth on them. He found it funny to be denying such a thing because Jisung had been wondering the same thing before Felix even asked him about it.
"Because you like him," the Australian replied, turning to glance at Minho who was still smiling away at his phone.
"So?" Jisung asked, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't sure what exactly to think or even do. Mainly because he and Minho weren't even together and Minho doesn't even like me, what right do I have to be jealous?
"So, that means that you have been or will probably experience jealousy," the younger replied gently, "which is okay, you know."
"But I'm not, I'm just... confused," Jisung shook his head.
"About what specifically?" Felix asked in reply even though he already had an idea, who he's talking to? Why is he so smiley?
"About..." the producer trailed off as he looked back at Minho who was still laughing as he typed away on his phone, "why the fuck is he so smiley?"
Felix chuckled as he watched Jisung walk over to Minho. Upon reaching him, the older glanced up from his phone, "oh, hey Ji."
"Hey," Jisung spoke softly, not quite understanding how he felt a little more relaxed now that he was talking to the older. When Minho looked back down at his phone and continued typing, Jisung felt something inside him sink, "who uh... who are you talking to?"
"Oh, my friend from back home," Minho replied as he looked up at the younger again.
"O-Oh," Jisung cringed at the fact that he stuttered, "the one you once said was your um, your boyfriend?"
Minho looked back down at his phone and chuckled at Jisung, "yeah, but it wasn't like I was serious."
Jisung nodded and hummed in response, letting out a large breath just to take another one in as he watched the way Minho laughed at his phone again, "so... not your boyfriend?"
"No," Minho looked up and Jisung wished that he wasn't going crazy and that Minho really smiled a little wider at him, "that was always a joke, I thought you knew that."
"I guess I did, but you're sometimes hard to read," Jisung replied, shrugging before lifting his voice to sound as playful as he could, "plus you were staring at your phone like that, how was I supposed to know that it wasn't someone special?"
