Yamini POV:
The alarm rings at 6.30 a.m.
I snoozed my alarm and it went off. Snuggling myself into my thick comforter, I resume my sleep. God! This is Heaven. I don't want to wake up for the rest of my life. It's raining cats and dogs. Patting my Butt, My mom kept the cup of tea at the Teapoy beside my bed.
"5 minutes Ma" Demanding her, I tossed myself against the bed by leaning my face opposite of the pillow.
Renouncing my sleep for the Morning test, I crawled to the bathroom and get brushed my teeth. Once the minty flavored toothpaste's chilliness hits my tongue, My eyes bid bye to sleep. Opening my Lap and Logging into the website, I took a sip of tea with one hand and went through the revision for the test. Banking is really easy. This is the first lie I heard when I joined my Coaching in a Private Institution.
"Come Inside and Please be seated" My father's voice echoed throughout the Living room and his transverse waves entered my room. Who might be here in this early morning? I wondered and continued my revision. Even though my concentration is on my notes, My sharp ears harked the conversation going on in the living room. An hour passed and I packed up my things. Turning on the shower, I shampooed my Waist-length hair and took a bath. Fitting myself in the plain Beige colored open Top and Brown ankle-length Leggings, I dried my hair quick and fast. Applying a pea-sized lotion on my face, prescribed by my dermatologist, I put minimal makeup.
"Ma, I'm ready! Breakfast Ready ah?" By shouting throughout the way to the Kitchen, I saw a woman in her late 20s talking with my mom. She turned and looked at me with a smile. Who is she? What she's doing in our Kitchen? I got perplexed and looked at my mom.
"She is my daughter Yamini. Getting ready for her coaching class" My mom introduced me to her. But Why? "Hi Yamini! I'm Priya. Nice to meet you" She greeted with a smile. I'm still confused. "Hi," I replied and looked at her with a befuddled face. A sudden voice from the kitchen entrance startled me.
"How are you, Yamini?" I reverted my gaze to the voice. He is Aditya. My dad's maternal uncle's son. He is a smart and Good-looking guy. Dressed in casuals, His tall figure strolled towards me. My eyes enlarged in surprise and a smile engulfed my lips. My heart starts to Rap as his woody and strong cologne hits my nostrils.
"I'm Fine mama. How about you?" I quire him in response and he replied that he was fine. We were seated in the dining hall and still, now I'm wondering who is she! After having my breakfast, I sneak a look at him 50 times. I noticed him arranging the fruits, and flowers, with Betel leaves and nuts on a Thamboolam. (Big plate). But why he is doing this?
They symbolize love, blessings, and the spirit of sharing joy on special occasions. Have they built a new house and is this House warming function invitation? Let me wait and watch! I stood beside my Father. He beckoned Priya and they together handled the invitation to my father and mother. Wait! I thought she was his friend who accompanied him. Now it doesn't look like that!
"Kandippa kalyanathuku vandhranum mama (You should attend the marriage, Uncle) " He told my father and everyone was smiling except me. What's happening here? Priya is her fiancé? I didn't expect this. Almost my heart shattered into a million pieces. He winked at me with a smile. I shouldn't let my tears run down through my cheeks. I gave a tightened lip smile.
"It's 3 years of love and finally both the family accepted," He said with a shy smile that erupted an unnamed emotion from my eyes. I want to cry now. "I'm getting late! Bye Ma! Bye Pa!" I ran away from my house and started to walk towards the institution.
Memories are being recollected in my mind. I met him when I was 8 years old. It was at my Ear-piercing ceremony. Accidentally I tangled my skirt's knot and he was the one who untangled it. At that moment I felt embarrassed, and slowly it developed into a childhood crush...
