Today was travel day.

We were flying to the Netherlands, my home.

I love when we played against Ajax, as they play really close to my childhood home, meaning i'm able to visit my family, that i love, and miss, a lot.

Only problem? I hate flying. I don't even know why. I've just never been a fan of it. It does cause problems when living far from my family though.

So here i was, sat slightly away from the group, wondering if this match was worth it. I wish trains were faster, maybe then i could take trains instead of flights. Wow life would be so much easier.

I was sat on my phone, trying to distract myself from what was coming when Ellie came over and took a seat next to me.

"Are you okay?" She asks, a concerned but curious look to her face.

"Not a fan of flying" I reply, giving her a small smile, indicating that i'll be fine.

"I used to be scared of flying as a kid, i hated the noises"

"Yeah? Are you not anymore?"

"Not so much, i think i just got used to it i guess"

"I get that" I reply, taking a deep breath.

"You're statistically more likely to die from the plane food than the plane ride yourself" Ellie says, taking me out of my head and giving her a slightly weird look.

"How do you even know that?"

"Really random articles and late nights" She laughs, making me smile.

My heartbeat instantly slowed, Ellie distracting me with her random facts that she knows, and wow is there a wide range.

It was about 10 minutes of me talking with Ellie about her random facts before the gate opening announcement came on, everyone around us packing up their things to get on the flight.

I take another deep breath, running my hands along my legs, and closing my eyes for a second before standing up to grab my things.

As i stand up i see Ellie waiting for me, her already ready to go, so i quickly grab my things and we head onto the plane.

I'm momentarily distracted as i make my way onto the plane, having to deal with my bags and passport until i sit down in my seat next to the window and it all comes back again.

I look up to the aisle, Ellie who was right behind me about to walk past when..

"Ellie wait, come sit with me", i ask, a slight sense of hopefulness in my voice, just hoping she hadn't already told someone else she will sit with them.

"Aren't you going to sit with Dama?" She asks, clearly a bit confused considering me and her and practically attached at the hip a lot of the time.

"You're a much nicer person" i reply, like it's the most obvious thing i've ever said.

Ellie chuckles before smiling and placing her things on the seat next to me.

We are travelling in business class this time, meaning we all get fancy reclining seats and a lot of space. We don't usually have upper class for shorter flights but i guess we got treated this time.

As Ellie is putting her things down and getting situated in her seat i am once again having to try distract myself from the thoughts in my head, so turn my focus to the television screen in front of me. I play about with the buttons, looking through some of the movies available to watch.

It wasn't until the plane started to move, and the TV turned off, that i really started panicking.

I secured my seat belt, keeping it very tight, and started picking at my nails, looking out the window, watching as the plane made its way towards the runway.
