It was now a few days later, and I had just pulled up to training and turned off my car.
I grab my training bag from the back of the car, before heading towards the training grounds.
As I walk into the changing rooms, I spot Dama sat in front of her locker, tying up her shoes.
"Hey Daan, ready to get beat?" She announces, standing up and placing one of her arms around my shoulders and ruffling up my hair, just like an older sibling.
"I'm sure that you are" I tease back, knowing we were doing 5-a-side games today, where me and Dama always play against each other.
I walk over to my locker, setting my things out in front of me, and changing my shoes after Dama lets go of me to go meet up with the other girls.
And just as I walk over to the pitch, I don't get a chance to look for my favourite blonde before we are pulled into a team huddle by Sonia.
She spends a few minutes going over our mistakes from the last match, and what we need to focus on before we get into position for some games.
I was on a team against Dama and Ellie, both of them on the other team, meaning I was getting more competitive. How am I supposed to just let them win?
Which is why when the ball is kicked to my feet, I don't hesitate making a run for it to the goal, which looked pretty open.
Until suddenly the ball is lost, Dama somehow managing to have gotten it, a slight smirk on her face as she brings the ball back to my half.
What a rat.
But all hope was not lost, a similar position coming into play again, the ball kicked to my feet as I made a run for it, not wanting to waste another opportunity.
Until the ball is lost from my feet, a shining blonde having whisked the ball from my feet in mere seconds, kicking it across the pitch to Dama, who was much closer to my half.
Great.
Third times a charm?
The next time the ball was at my feet, I couldn't let it go again, deciding to just attempt a goal, considering I wasn't exactly far from the net. I've scored from this far before, I can do it again right?
And I did, the ball going perfectly into the bottom corner of the net as Endler was too far from the ball to get to it in time.
Victoryyyy!
I send over a small smirk over to Dama and Ellie, who were both stood together, probably contemplating life choices after thinking they could win this, just as the whistle went, signalling the end of the games.
------------------------------------------
I step out of my car after arriving at my house from training, grabbing my bag from the back seat and making my way towards the house, fumbling with my keys when trying to unlock the door with all the stuff in my hands.
I went food shopping on the way home, meaning that now my hands were completely full trying to carry all the shopping bags in one go, not wanting to go back to the car again.
I walked in, placing my stuff down and closing the door behind me, then walking over to the kitchen counter to place the bags out, and start putting things away.
After unpacking, which surprisingly didn't take as long as I thought it would, I sit down at my kitchen table, taking my phone out to scroll on TikTok, having a bit of a mental break as I sit and decompress after the whole day.
