We ended up deciding that Ellie stays at my house for the few days leading up to my family's arrival, as I had some stuff to get done here. And there was no way she was staying alone.

"Can I have a drawer?" I hear Ellie ask as I bring up the last of her bags that she packed.

"What do you need a drawer for? You're staying for three days.. right?" I ask signalling over to the three bags sitting on the floor by the wall.

"Yeah but like.. a drawer would be nice" She asks, a smile on her face as she walks over to me, sliding her arms around my waist.

"Top drawer is already cleared out for you" I grin as she kisses me, before quickly pulling away to walk over to her drawer.

"So what are the plans today?" She asks, while putting her clothes away, while I sit on the bed.

"I was thinking I'd get all the deep cleaning done, and set up the room. That way I can spend the next two days with you and only need to go shopping."

"Sounds good" She replies, shutting the drawer, and coming over to sit with me.

I threw myself backwards, letting out an exasperated sigh when I was laying flat, my hands spread out above my head.

"What's up?" Ellie laughs, placing a hand further down the bed, leaning on it and looking at me.

"I can't be bothered.." I sigh, making Ellie chuckle at me.

"It's just one room, come on, up" Ellie commands, standing up and reaching her hand out for mine, which I take, letting her help me up.

We walk into the guest room, and I grab the hoover out of the closet, plugging it into the outlet.

"What do you want me to do?"

"You don't have to there isn't a lot"

"Just let me help you so you're done quicker"

"You can..." I start, looking around the room "Change the bed sheets?"

"On it" She replies, picking up the sheets and walking over to the bed.

While she changes them, I quickly hoover up. The room isn't used so it's not like it gets dirty quickly. But we still wiped down surfaces and dusted the room.

"That went surprisingly fast" I mention, looking down at my watch.

"Perfect, let's go watch a movie?" Ellie smiles at me. And i'm not exactly going to say no to that.

I walk over to Ellie, who was sitting on the couch flipping through movies, with a bowl of popcorn in my hands.

I take a seat next to her, propping my feet up on the table in front of me, eating the popcorn as Ellie finalises on a movie and turns it on.

I grab a blanket, spreading it over our legs as the movie starts, as well as placing the popcorn bucket in the middle of us, making it easy for both of us to grab.

20 minutes into the movie, I speak up.

"Ellie, look" I say, getting Ellie's attention as I pick up a piece of popcorn, throwing it up in the air and attempting to catch it in my mouth.

"Wait" I say, after the first try wasn't successful, going for round 2, throwing the piece of popcorn into the air again, and catching it between my teeth.

I eat the popcorn, smiling smugly over at Ellie as she watches my childish antics.

"Impressive. But I can do better" Ellie says, smirking over at me as she also picks up a piece of popcorn.
