"Thank you, bye" I reply, grabbing the keys from my mechanic and heading towards the car in the back parking lot.The car definitely looks in better shape than the last time i saw it.
I get in the car and start driving towards the stadium. Training only started 20 minutes ago so i wont miss too much of training which is good.
--------------------------------------————————
About 20 minutes later, i head towards the pitch in my kit and join in with the training the team were doing. I notice Ellie talking at the side with Ada so i shoot them a smile before heading off to Sara to join in with that shes doing.
We spent around an hour on the field doing general training before heading to the gym for a few hours and then playing a few matches. I tried my best to keep my eyes off the blonde lingering in my eyesight and tried to focus on the ball at my feet. Didn't go as well as i thought it would.
Then training was over and finally time for mine and Ellie's afternoon adventure. I had just left the shower, changed and was now waiting outside the room for Ellie.
I had picked out a few places i wanted to show her, i didn't want to take her anywhere boring but i had a few good places in mind.
"Hey I'm ready to go"
I look up from my phone, seeing her coming at me, her damp hair in a slick low bun, her bag resting on her right shoulder, and that smile...
That smile is going to kill me.
"Okay lets go" I reply, quick out of my trance as we head towards my car.
"Is the car good to drive in now?" I chuckle, remembering our first encounter. Yikes.
"Yeah i only just got it back from the mechanic this morning"
I place my bag in the boot of the car before taking Ellie's for her and doing the same. She smiles in thanks and walks around to get in the passenger seat of the car. I take a deep breath before getting in the drivers seat and driving out of the stadium.
--------------------------------
"So, where are you taking me?" Only a few seconds had passed but it felt like I'd been sitting here in comfortable silence for years.
"So, there's a really nice cafe along the river Rhône, and i have a secret viewpoint of the whole city. I figured its the best way to show you your new city" I smile while glancing a quick glance of her reaction to the plan.
"That sounds great", she replies, smiling too.
We engage in normal casual talk, talk about the team, the other girls' lives, the training, but nothing personal. Her Aussie accent is adorable and i'm enjoying listening to the new accent when the GPS announces our stop.
I parked the car at a car park a few roads from the river and we start walking along, admiring the birds chirping and doing some people watching.
After a few minutes of minimal chit chat, we arrive at a cafe overlooking the river. I open the door for Ellie to enter and we take a seat in the back at a window we could watch the river out of.
I take a minute to scan the menu, picking out a slice of cheesecake and a coffee and i couldn't help but notice Ellie's slightly confused face as she reads.
I look down at the French menu, connecting the dots.
"What would you like?" I ask, watching her face rise from the menu as she replies "Just a coffee i think". Very clear she can't understand this menu.
