(Ellie's POV)
I've been stood outside the arrivals gate for over an hour waiting for Teagan to arrive. I may have overestimated how long it would take for me to get here, there shockingly being no traffic so now i had a while to wait.
The first thing i thought about when i got signed in Lyon is how close i'd be to Teagan, who is pretty close and only in England. And so here I am, watching as each person walks out, hoping that it is finally Teagan walking through the gates.
I've known Teagan since I joined the Matildas, both of us clicking instantly and becoming friends. We always share rooms at camp and matches, and now she is finally visiting me and my new life here in Lyon. She may only be staying for a couple days, but i'm still so excited.
When the arrivals board had updated to announce the landing of her flight, i got instantly excited and made my way closer to the doors the passengers were walking through.
Thankfully, Teagan was one of the first people out, immediately running over to me as i ran to her, embracing her in a hug, her forgetting about her luggage, which was rolling around slightly next to us.
"Oh my god i can't believe you're finally here!"
"Yess me too"
"I've missed you so much" I say, tightening on the hug we were in.
"It's not been long but i've missed you too Ellie"
We stood there hugging for a little while longer, stopping after the area was getting crowded and deciding to make our way back to my car.
When we finally got to my car, which may have taken a while longer than planned from me forgetting which building I parked in, I placed Teagan's suitcase in the back of the car and we made our way back to my house.
-------------------------------------------------
It took us basically twice as long to get back than it did to get here, the early morning rush in full swing as we made our way through Lyon. Though it was okay, the slower car ride meaning i could point out all my favourite places as we got closer and closer to the house.
"That is where i get my nails done, the lady there is so nice"
I hear Teagan giggle slightly before showing her my current nails, painted in Lyon colours.
"I like them they look cute"
"Down that road is the stadium i'll take you there too later" Teagan turns her head to look further down the road, then replying,
"Oh yeah I think I see it!" I laughed at her excitement before paying attention on the road.
The rest of the car ride is pretty much the same, me just pointing out random places i have been to, or showing her where i want to take her over the next few days, until finally, we make it back to my house.
-------------------------------------
"Wow this is an unexpectedly nice house" Teagan says, taking a step into the house and looking around while placing her bag down.
"Then what exactly were you expecting?"
"Honestly, I have no clue, not this though"
I laugh at her response, leading her upstairs into the guest bedroom i have, letting her look around and unpack as i head downstairs to prepare something for her to eat.
I made my way into the kitchen, preparing an early lunch for us due to the early start she had this morning. And just as i finish making some sandwiches, i hear her footsteps coming down the stairs.
