Maka's P.O.V

But me and Soul are partners. Why would we be split apart. And why should I be even looking for a new partner I mean-
"Hello? Your Maka right? Heard you need a new partner."A kid said.
Maka sat at a table at the Death Cafe. She was staring out the window so she didn't notice the person walk over. She looked at him a bit irritated. It was a boy. He looked a bit older then her. He had dark brown hair with a bit of blond in it. He had sea green eyes.
"Yeah. What about it?"Maka snapped at him. She didn't want to trade out Soul yet. She thought that maybe if she waited long enough Soul would be her partner again.
"I just got into the school so I don't have a partner. "He said and sat down on the other side of the table.
"What's your name?"she asks. Lord Death ordered her to actually try and get a new partner.
"Jake Miller."he said smiling to her showing off his teeth. He had fangs on the top and bottom of his mouth. Kind of like Alice's. But her's were a bit sharper.
She nods."You already know my name obviously."
"Yeah I noticed."he chuckles. Maka growned to like him a bit.
"Alright I'll make a deal with you. Me and my team are supposed to train later. We're supposed to fight against another team. I'll bring you with me and we'll see if we make a team."Maka says smiling.
"Deal."he smiles.

Alice's P.O.V

Alice panted heavily but smiled widely. Her knees felt like lead but she kept running. She was in a race with Soul to the arena to meet up with their team. Alice was in the lead. But Soul was right behind her so she didn't stop running.
Soul was running right next to her now. They both looked at each other still running and Alice stuck out her tongue. Soul smirked and was about to do the same but at the same time they both tripped over a tree branch and both went rolling into the arena.
Alice crashed into someone and both of them ran into the stadiums. Alice looked up at the person she crashed into and saw someone she never thought she'd see again.
"JAKEY!!!!"She yelled and hugged him.
He laughed and hugged her back. "What are you doing here, Alice?"
"I should ask you this."she smiles widely and stands up helping him up.
"I asked you first."he said smirking at her and shoved her a bit.
"I asked you second."she stuck out her tongue out at him.
"You both know each other?"Maka comes up behind Jake.
"Is that even a question?"Alice laughs.
Jake rolls his eyes."Me and Alice were best friends Kindergarten through 5th grade. Until she moved away."
"I didn't want to. Those years were the best."Alice says happily.
"And now were both here."he smiles happily.
Soul walks up to them too. He stands besides Alice."What's going on?"
"My friends come back!"Alice says happily and hugs Jake again. She saw a glimpse of Soul face that looks a bit jealous.
"Alright. All teams over here!"Dr. Stein calls. Sid standing next to him.
Everyone walked over. Although they all stood apart in their own groups which was their teams. They all surrounded Sid and Dr.Stein. Alice stood with Black*Star, Tsubaki, Liz, Patti, Kid, Soul, Jake, and Maka.
"As most of you know. We are making the teams fight against each other."Dr. Stein announces. Alice stoll felt strange about him. Like she knew him or she was still scared about him. She couldn't tell.
"I was once a man who followed the rules. So I expect you all to also. First Rule. No killing. To defeat a team you most make them step out of the circle. Not make them die. Also whoever the winner is gets a prize."Sid says."Although I was nwver a man who liked prizes."
"Also if someone is hurt stop fighting. We will take them out of the arena and then you may continue."Dr. Stein adds.
"First battle."Sid says looking at a paper on a clip board."Maka's team against Ox's team."
Ox's team and Maka's team all went into the arena. They put a huge circle plate in the arena. Alice guessed if you got out of the circle you were out.
Alice walked in the circle with her team. She looked at her opponents. There was a girl with pink hair and green eyes standing next to a girl with black long hair and brown eyes. The pink haired girl smiled mischievously. The other girl looked all serious. Weird partners.
Another kid with a weird pair of glass stood in front of Maka. He was bapd other then some black hair sticking out behind his glasses like spikes. Alice guessed the guy standing next to him was his partner. He had black hair put up in a sort of messed up pony tail. He had green glasses with red lens that went all the way across his face.
Two little girls that looked exactly alike besides their different color hats stood besides a guy with black hair and a pair of glasses that covered his eyes.
Alice smiled looking at them all. This would be easy compaired to what they battled before. Alice looked down to the floor her black hair covering her eyes and her hood on. She smiled and that was the only thing you saw under her hood and hair. Maka stpod face to face woth Ox. Jake stranding next to her looking bored. Black Star was with Tsubaki standing in front of the pink haired girl and her weapon. Kid stood with Patti and Liz in front of the two luttle girls and the guy.
"Ready, Soul?"she asks still smiling.
"Cool guys are always ready."he smirks showing off his shark teeth.
"Whatever, Soul."she smirks back at him.
"Ready!"Sid says and all of them nod.
"Fight!"Dr.Stein yells and all the weapons turn into weapons.
Soul turmed into his scythe and Alice twirled him in the air. She saw the other weapons also change. The black haired girl turned into something she couldn't see through all the fire coming out from the weapon. The guy with green glasses turned into a staff with a lightning bolt shape at the top. The twin girls turned into two huge gloves that read pot of fire and pot of lightning.
Ox's team started to shoot fire and lightning at them. Alice rolled out of the way from the attack making sure she didn't go out of the circle. She spun Soul and attacked. She was about to attack the pink haired girl but she saw her and threw fire at her.
Alice ducked and stepped back a bit. Black Star came flying from the air and landed on the floor making a dent. The girl shot fire his way but when it touched him he disappeared.
He came out behind her and she shot fire at him but he disappeared again.
Alice looked around confused. Black Star came out behind her smiling."Speed star."he said and grinned. There was a blurry image of him running around. The girl tried ro shoot fire at him bit failed he dropped Tsubaki and hit the girl in the stomach sending her flying. She landed outside the circle with her weapon and Dr. Stein took her to sit down at the stadium.
Damn. These guys are strong. Am.I like this? She thinks before a lightning strike came her way.
"Alice! Duck!"Soul yelled. She looked back and rolled out of the way from the lightning bolt. She looked up to the person that tried.to hit her and saw the guy with the weird glasses and the lightning staff.
"I am the lightning king!"he yells and tries to hit her again. She easily dodges and charges to him. He tries to hit her but she keeps dodging. She spins Soul and hooks the blade on the staff when she's close enough. She spins the staff and throws it making it fly to the other side of the circle.
Alice spins Soul again and smiles. "And I'm Alice. Nice to meet you." she laughs. She kicks him and sends him flying out of the circle.
Alice tried to look around for her team. But there was so much smoke everywhere she couldn't see anything. She held a hand to her mouth and nose trying to breath right. She walked around the place looking around. Soul staued silient while they looked.
She saw a couple of bright flashes and walked torwards it. Something crashed into her and they both landed to the floor hard. Alice was under the person and saw Kid.
"The symmetry was to perfect."he muttered and rolled off her passing out.
Alice rolled her eyes and looked around for Soul. He wasn't with her since Kid knocked him out of her hands.
"Soul?"she called. She walked a bit and tripped over his handle landed on the floor.
"Oh sorry."he said and laughed.
"Shut up Soul."she muttwred and picked him up.
They walked over to where Kid flew from and saw Maka and the last kid from the team fighting. Black Star was a blurry vision running around.
Alice smiled seeing Jake in his weapon form working with Maka. Jake was a scythe. But not a normal scythe. His scythe form looked alot like Alice's except the blade was longer and sharper. Alice remembered when he first tried his weapon form his arm turned into the black blade and he started freaking out. He ran through the school waving around his scythe arm while Alice was dying from laughter.
Maka blocked one of the bursts of fire going to her. Black Star dodged all the lightning strikes thrown at him.
Alice stepped into battle she smiled."This will be easy."
"When is it not?"Soul laughs.
"True."she laughs and goes into the battle.
Maka charged at the kid and tried to hit him with the end of the scythe but failed since he kept dodging. Black Star appeared behind him and hit him woth his soul wavelength which made him weak. The guy fell to his knees. Alice flipped in and kicked the guy with the end of her combat boots making him finally get out of the circle.
"And the winners are Maka's team!"Sid says.
All the weapons turn back to human and smile. Liz and Patti drags Kid over to everyone.
"All of you will come back in a couple of days for another battle. Also Maka, Jake,Alice, and Soul. Lord Death needs you."Dr. Stein says and they nod.
Alice claps her hands and smiles. She hugs Soul."We did it!"
She feels him hug back and smiles happily."We did."
Alice stopped hugging him after Jake stares at her. Alice smiles happily and jumps up and down. Spul puts a hand on her shoulder to make her stop jumping.
"Ha! I'm number one in class and in the battle field!"Maka does a victory dance.
Jake smiles happily and rolls his eyes at Maka.
Black Star laughs."WE WON BECAUSE THE ALMIGHTY BLACK STAR WAS THERE! "
"I think this deserves a game of punishment basketball."Tsubaki says quietly.
"Sure why not."Liz says. She was next to Kid who was slowly waking up.
"We'll meet you there we have to talk to Lord Death."Maka says.
"Don't start with out us."Jake says and walks with Maka. Alice laughs and walks with Soul to the Death Room.
