Chapter 20

Alice's P.O.V

Alice, Soul, Maka, and Jake all got to the park to see everyone at the basketball court playing a game.
"Guys we told you to wait."Soul says and grabs the ball from Liz who was to busy with her nails.
"You guys were late."Kid shrugs."But it wasn't even a real game."
"Yeah. Plus Black Star dosen't wait for people."he grins at them and Maka Maka Chops him.
"Anways you guys can join now for the actual game."Patti.says happily.
"What's the teams?"Jake asks. Alice knew he was good at basketball. They had a competition at their school in 4th grade and he won the whole thing. So he was on the team for...Oh. Yeah. I moved away.
"Alice and Jake are on Liz, Patti and Tsubaki's team. Maka and Soul are on mine and Black Star's team."Kid says then counts everyone on his fingers."IT'S ASYMMETRICAL!!!"
Alice yawned grinned."Don't worry we can win. Easy."
"I mean you do have two basketball champions right here."Jake says grinning too.
Alice glanced at Soul to see he was grinding his teeth. What's he mad about?
"YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT THE ALMIGHTY BLACK STAR!!! I WILL SURPASS GOD AND YOUR JUST TASKS NEEDED TO BE HANDLED!!"Black Star yells.
Alice grins at him. Her black hair covering her eyes."We'll see about that."
"What about the punishment?"Tsubaki asks.
"If we lose Kid has to have his room asymmetrical for a week. And Maka can't read for a week."Black Star says confidently.
"If we lose I have to stop listening to music for a week and Jake has to cut his hair." Alice says smiling. She looks at Jake's hair that was always messy and did really need a cut. His hair was basically three inches. Well as a guess. She probably would've cut it either way.
"Deal."Black Star grins. While Maka and Kid were screaming no.
"Deal."she says grinning back. While Jake shrugged confidently.
Soul and Alice stands in the center of the court. Alice's eyes were coverer by her hair but she showed her eyes to Soul. They had a hint of red in them and she smiled.
Alice couldn't tell what his reaction was since she already passed the ball to him. He looked at her a moment with a worried expression. Then tossed the ball back. Alice instantly tossed the ball to Jake that was running up behind her.
Alice smiled to Soul and kissed him quickly before she got into the game. She side stepped and caught the ball that Jake threw to her. She twirled around Kid who was trying to get the ball but kept dribbling. She dribbled the ball to the other side of the court to the hoop they were supposed to throw it to. She acted like she was going to take the shot and saw Black Star at the corner of her eye.
She smiled and right before Black Star tackled her she had already threw the ball to Jake who had a perfect 3 pointer and got it in.
Alice threw Black Star off her. She smiled."Guess this 'task' is to big for you."
Black Star started mumbling stuff under his breath. He went outside the court and got the ball waiting to throw it to his teammates. He threw it to Kid who passed it to Soul.
Alice smiled and twirled over to Soul who had just caught the ball and was dribbling to the other side of the court that only had Liz playing with her nails and Patti laughing and talking about giraffes.
Alice closed her eyes for a second but in her head felt like hours. Once she opened her eyes again they were a bit more redder then before. She ran after Soul. Jake on the other side of the court doing to same. They both caught up to him in seconds. He was about to make a shot but Jake caught it midair. He quickly passed it before he went out of bounds. Alice caught it and ran half way through the court before Soul caught up to her.
She smiled to him still dribbling. She stopped quickly and Soul accidentally kept running trying to stop. Alice dribbled to the left and pivited when Black Star tried to block her. She dribbled in the other direction and got the point.
This went on for about an hour. They won to 6-1. The other team only got one after Patti threw the ball and landed it in her own team's net.
Soul walked with Alice to her house. Jake wanted to but Soul gave him a stare like back-off-she's-mine. Alice was getting a piggy back ride now from Soul. Giggling. Her eyes went back to the blue they once were and not the red that she had early.
"What happened to your eyes during the game?"Soul asks while Alice rested her head on his shoulder.
"I couldn't lose my music now could I?" Alice says smiling to him."So I might have used a bit of black blood."
"Alice. You know your not supposed to do that. You might hurt someone."Soul says worried.
Alice kisses his cheek resting her head back on his shoulder."I'll be fine. Besides it wasn't that much."
Soul stays silient for a while."What about Jake?"
"What about him?"Alice asks.
"Well....Ummm....I-I think he likes you and- Umm... I-"Soul tries to say.
Alice stands back on the ground and stops him. She stands in front of him and kisses him. She puts her hamds around his neck and feels his arms around her waist pulling her tighter.
After they pulled away for breath Alice put her head on his chest.
"He's just a friend. No one else. I like you. So how does he matter?"Alice whispers to him hugging him tightly.
Soul rests his head on hers since ge was a head taller then her."I guess it doesn't."
She smiles and pulls him closer to her. He holds her close too and they stand there for a while.
"I'll see you tomorrow alright?"She says looking at him.
He nods and kisses her fore head. "Alright."
Alice lets go reluctantly and goes into her apartment that she had bought a couple of days ago. Since Lord Death said she needed one. She unlocked the door and jumped and fell onto the couch. She sighed and smiled.
She closed her eyes and dosed off until someone put a hand to her mouth. The person grabbed both her arns and stood her up.
She struggled to get out of the grip but failed. She tried screaming hoping Soul was there or anyone.
"I'm just a friend? Really Alice? You'd think that 'Jakey' was your partner in crime. Especially in crime. Don't you remember when we were the thieves?"Jake says and laughs.
