Chapter 25

~A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body~

Soul's P.O.V

Alice is actually leaving? That can't be right. She can't leave. I'm supposed to be with her and protect her. This is all wrong. A ton of thoughts ran through Soul's head. He staggered a bit. This can't be happening.
Maka put a hand on his shoulder giving him a reassuring smile."She'll be alright Soul. Besides this is Alice were talking about. She'll be back."
Soul simply nodded not wanting to talk. He might burst out screaming if he did.
Lord Death clapped his hands together."Also. Soul. Maka. You both are going to be partners again. That is all bye bye."he waved. And Dr. Stein lead them out. But stayed in the Death Room.
"We have to go find her." Soul says.
"That won't be hard." She points to the burnt footprints smoking on the ground. And the hole in the wall.
"Wow. She really was angry." Soul squats down and touches one of the footprints but pulls his hand back quickly when he's burnt.
"Baka."she mutters and walks down the hall way following the burnt footprints.
"Be quiet, Pigtails."he mutters back and puts his hands in his pockets following her.
They both followed the burnt footsteps. Soul sometimes getting burnt by them and Maka Maka Chopping him. They ended up at their apartment and saw Alice asleep on the now black couch. She was steaming but when Soul put a hand on her arm she was just warm instead of steaming hot like the footprints.
"She would come here."Maka sighs and laughs a bit."She can stay here for the night I guess. We won't be able to wake her anyways."
Maka goes back into her room shutring the door after her. Soul sighs and chuckles at Alice. He gets a blanket and lays it over Alice. Then goes back to his room to sleep.

*Time Skipp*

Alice's P.O.V

Alice woke up on Soul and Makas couch. She moved the blanket that was on her not remembering that she put it on. She looked around to see burnt footprints on the ground. She sighed and fell back into the couch closing her eyes and thought for a bit. Then got back up and yawned stretching her arms.
She went into the kitchen and started making cereal. Since she was hungry. Then she almsot dropped the milk. Remembering what had happned yesterday and started steaming a bit but calmed down and finished making her cereal. She sat on the couch and watched T.V while eating cereal.
"Hey, Alice. You alright?"Maka asks as she sat down with her.
"Yeah. Well...I guess."she laughs and sits crosslegged on the couch.
"I'm going to miss you just so you know."She says tearing up a bit.
"I'll miss you too."Alice smiles and hugs her and Maka hugs back tightly.
"But I'll be coming back. I promise."she smiles reassuringly.
"You better. Or I'll track you down."Maka laughs and smiles.
Alice laughs and smiles. Soul walks into the living room looking a bit sad but smiles.
"Hey finally you woke up."Maka says and giggles.
"You guys woke up at freaking 6 in the morning."Soul says."You people are crazy if you think I'll wake up at that time."
"It's 8:00 not 6:00 we woke up a couple of minutes ago."Alice laughs.
"Well whatever time we woke up. We need to get ready for today."Maka says and stands uo and goes into her room shutting the door.
Soul stands there a bit awkward. Alice looks up to him then stands uo and hugs him tightly."This isn't goodbye got it? I'm coming back. I promise."
Soul hugs her back and Alice's wishes she could stay that way forever. But she reluctantly let's go and smiles to him then goes into her old room to get dressed. Soul goes to his and does the same.
Alice gets her skinny jeans and combat boots. Then takes a black sweater with Lord Death's mask on it. She brushes her hair and then heads out of the room. Maka and Soul were already dressed in what they usually wore. They all went out of the apartment and started walking to the school not talking at all.

*Time Skip to the school*

Alice puts her hands in her sweater pockets. They stood at the bottom of the stairs. Eruka was smiling happily. She wore a black and white polka dot sweater and some shorts with a pair of Vans. Free stood there not showing any emotions wearing a black jacket with a black and white striped shirt and some pants and some Vans too. Dr. Stein stood with a mirror that Lord Death was on.
"Ready to go?"Dr. Stein asks.
"Like I want to."Alice mutters and crosses her arms.
Soul looks at Alice sadly and hugs her. Alice hugs back tightly. She lets go and hugs Maka."I told you guys this isn't goodbye."she smiles and stands besides Dr. Stein.
"Bye. Bye. See you soon."
"Right."Dr. Stein says and smokes his cigarette. His eyes covered by the glow of his glasses.
Alice waves to Soul and Maka. They walk up the steps to go to class. Alice sighs and starts walking."Let's go."she mutters. She hears footsteaps behind her and looks down to the ground. "See you later guys."she mutters tears in her eyes but she blinks them away.
Dr. Stein outs a hand on her shoulder as they walk."We'll be back soon Alice. Don't worry."
