"Alyssa...." Dennise calls Alyssa, they're outside Dennise's house inside Alyssa's car, about 30 minutes ago. Dennise doesn't want to go home yet and let Alyssa go.
"Hmm?" Alyssa hummed.
"Have I ever told you that you make my heart hurt?"
Alyssa looks at Dennise. Dennise smiles at her.
"You make my heart hurt so much, sometimes I feel like crying by just looking at you," Dennise continues.
Alyssa's speechless, she doesn't know what to react nor say to Dennise who's obviously gathered up so much honesty to blurt those words out.
"Honesty hour?" Alyssa could only say.
Dennise laughs, "yeah, maybe pagod din," Dennise answers and sighs, "mahal kita. Sobra. This love I have for you is something I didn't expect. Something I wasn't aware I could feel. Yung mga pagkakataong mapapatingin na lang ako sa'yo and I will find myself smiling. Yung tipong minsan naiinis ako kasi minsan hindi ko na alam kung anong mga salita pa ba ang pwede kong gamitin just to tell you how much I love you. I love you so much, Ly, that there are times I admit to myself that I will never love someone this much again," Dennise confesses with tears in her eyes.
Alyssa reaches for Dennise's hand and holds it tight, and uses her other hand to wipe Dennise's tears.
"Den..." she calls for Dennise. Dennise looks at her, "baby, isang araw lang naman akong mawawala, bakit nagsspeech ka dyan?"
Dennise laughs out loud and shakes her head, "alam mo, why you always have to sira the mood?"
Alyssa laughs, leans towards Dennise and kisses her forehead, she closes her eyes as she leans her forehead to Den's, "when did you become so good with words?" she asks. She felt Den shrug.
"Maybe because you're good with them, too?" Dennise asks.
Alyssa smiles, "if I am, why am I so speechless right now? I want to reciprocate all those what you've just said to me."
Dennise smiles as she opens her eyes and slightly moves away from Alyssa. Alyssa meets Dennise's eyes, "I'm not really expecting a response naman, babe. Just wanted to say those din because I feel like it. If not now, when?"
Alyssa nods, "mahal kita, Dennise."
Dennise smiles widely, "mahal kita, Alyssa."
After 30 minutes more, Alyssa finally went home. Dennise sighed as she sat down on her bed. She looked at the flowers Alyssa gave her earlier and found an envelope in it.
Dennise,
Hi love! Hope you enjoyed our pre-28th dinner. Sorry I can't be with you tomorrow. Alam mo, I remember something pala, alam mo yung date tomorrow? It's going to be 5 years since aminin ko sa sarili ko na I've completely fallen in love with you. Hahahaha. Realizing I fell in love with you was one of the most terrifying moments of my life, but also a sense of relief kasi finally may paglalagyan na ako ng nararamdaman ko sa'yo.
Alam mo, when I look at you, I always hear myself saying 'eto na talaga yon, Lord, siya na po talaga', tapos you always feel na nakatingin ako sayo kaya titingin ka sa'kin pabalik and smiles at me. Lagi akong nahuhulog, Dennise, I'm not even joking.
This is supposed to be a short one sorry dumaldal na naman ako. You will always be the calm amidst the chaos, Dennise, just one look and I know I will be fine as long as you're there. Mahal kita!

She composes a message for Alyssa.

10 minutes later, her phone rings, and it's Alyssa Valdez.
