Truth be told, when Dennise went outside, there was Alyssa waiting for her.
Pinigilan man ngumiti ni Dennise, but seeing Alyssa holding two cones of ice cream, her favorite flavor to be exact, Dennise let out a soft chuckle as she made her way towards her visitor.
"Anong oras na," 'yan agad ang sinabi niya pagkalapit niya.
"12:15 po ma'am," Alyssa answers.
"Ay ang pilosopo??? Saan ka galing?"
"Pauwi pa lang from work then I saw your post."
"At this hour???? Ly, hindi ka tagapag-mana, okay?"
Alyssa chuckles, "it's fine, nag-e-enjoy pa naman ako. Ikaw, bakit gising ka pa?"
"Sinusulit ko lang ang Friday night, it's better to stay up pag pa-weekend than weekend itself, if that made sense," Dennise answers.
"Yeah, it does, pag weekend kasi tapos nagpuyat ka, magugulat ka na lang pa-Lunes na naman."
"You get me!" Dennise said while laughing.
The two find themselves at the nearest convenience store, buying an ice cream (again) kasi kulang daw yung isa for Den. Alyssa settled for a coffee.
They sat at the table just outside of the convenience store, with Dennise wearing Alyssa's hoodie dahil pinanindigan niya talaga ang pajamas niya.
"You know what Den, what if 711 pala ang portal to the afterlife?" Alyssa suddenly asked.
"Huh????"
"Naisip ko lang," Alyssa chuckles, "kasi di ba when you go sa burol, kailangan mo mag-pagpag, and some of us, pumupunta sa 711 or sa mga fastfood restaurants, what if 'yun pala ang door to the afterlife?"
Dennise furrows her brows, "alam mo, I hate that it kinda makes sense."
Dennise and Alyssa look at each other, pauses for a sec, then laughs out loud.
"Malay ba natin di ba, hinahatid din pala talaga natin sila," Dennise adds.
"Thank you for supporting my absurd thoughts," Alyssa says.
"You know that I like to hear them, weirdo," Dennise says with a smile on her face.
Alyssa smiles, too, "Den?"
"Hmm?"
"Let's go to more late night dates like this, hmm?"
Dennise chuckles, "okay, Ly. But I hope you won't stay up all night kakatrabaho, give yourself a rest."
"I am, right now," Alyssa says.
"Okay, not what I meant but gets."
"Can you please stop ruining yung moment minsan?" reklamo ni Alyssa.
"Ito na ako, magtiis ka, Valdez," Dennise sticks her tongue out at Alyssa who only laughs.
"Yeah yeah, I know," Alyssa says.
"Ingat ka, Ly," Dennise says as soon as they got in front of her house.
"I'm literally 4 houses away Den, but thank you."
"Concerned na nga yung tao," Dennise says and rolls her eyes.
Alyssa laughs, "good night, Den! Thank you for seeing me."
"Good night, Ly," Dennise says and hugs Alyssa, "I appreciate you always."
Alyssa smiles and hugs Dennise back, "basta ikaw, Dennise."
