Dennise has built this habit of driving around when she couldn't sleep. The thing is, if a week has 7 days, 6 days of it, Dennise just finds herself inside her car, driving nowhere.

There's this one time when she saw her card statement at ang tanging laman lang ay puro transactions sa coffee shops at gas stations. Dennise laughed at that. She finds driving alone somewhat therapeutic. It eases her mind. There are times that Ella, her bestfriend, comes with her but most of the time, it's just her alone.

Tonight, she's driving going somewhere south. Not because she wants to, but because she needs to.

"Wala ka bang music?"

Dennise quickly glances to the passenger seat, then rolls her eyes, "meron."

"Can I play some? Ang tahimik kasi!"

"Okay, but no loud music, yung playlist ko patugtugin mo," Dennise answers.

"Ayaw mo ng BINI?"

"Isa," Dennise warns.

"Sungit. Etong to nowhere?"

"Yeah," Dennise only answered.

The car was filled with music titled Find Our Way.

"Nice," Dennise heard her say.

"Nagugutom ka ba?" Dennise asked her.

"Kala ko di ka na magtatanong e," the lady smiled at her, "medyo, hehe."

"Hehe amp," Dennise commented.

"Alam mo, tama na pagiging masungit, bakit ba inis na inis ka sa'kin? Marinig mo pa lang ata ang Alyssa, naiinis ka na- oh tignan mo nakasimangot ka na agad!" Alyssa, the lady in her passenger seat complains.

Dennise stops herself from smiling and remained frowning, "gusto mo malaman kung bakit?"

"Yeah? Hello, I've already approached you a hundred times, very nicely ha, ikaw 'tong bitch towards me."

This time, Dennise broke into a smirk, chuckling at what Alyssa called her, "kung ibaba kita sa gitna ng expressway, Alyssa?"

"Naka-Life 360 kami ni Jia and Bea! Alam din nila ikaw kasama ko."

Dennise chuckles, "I'm just kidding."

"Okay, so bakit nga?"

"Normal ko na 'to," Dennise only answered.

"Duda ako," Alyssa tells her, "I've seen you around, you seemed friendly naman. Kaya nga ikaw hinuli ko sa interview kasi unang-una, we're schoolmates, pangalawa, you are friends with Ella and Sam, pangatlo, everyone knows you as someone kind. So I was really surprised na ang sungit mo sa'kin."

"Ganyan ka ba talaga?" Dennise asked Alyssa.

"Anong ganto ako?"

"Sinasabi mo kung anong nasa isip mo?" Dennise chuckles, "I mean, are you not afraid of what I would think?"

"I'm just stating what I observed, Dennise, it's not like I judged your character. Kaya bakit ako matatakot?"

Dennise shrugs, "point taken."

"So, did I somewhat offend you?" Alyssa asked.

Dennise smiled, "let's save it for another day. Sige, I'll try to be nice to you tonight kahit you're really getting in my nerves."

"I'm just sitting here?!"

"Exactly," Dennise answered, with a smile on her face.

They parked at the nearest stopover and bought their food. Since puno ang fastfood chains for some reason, even if it's already late, Dennise and Alyssa settled at the back of Dennise's pickup.

"Pwede magtanong?" Alyssa asks.

"You're already asking," Dennise answered.

Alyssa rolled her eyes and clicks her tongue, "bakit pickup 'tong sasakyan mo?"

Dennise shrugged, "why not?"

"Curious lang."

They were enveloped with silence after that. When they finished eating, Alyssa presented herself na ayusin yung kalat nila at itapon sa nearest garbage bin.

"Bakit mo ba gustong pumunta ng Tagaytay?" Dennise asked as they got back on the road.

"Miss ko lang mag-bulalo."

"Dinamay mo pa ako."

Alyssa laughs, "you offered kaya."

Dennise shakes her head and didn't answer.

"May ipe-play ako, BINI song," Alyssa says and starts typing the title of the song.

"Ibababa kita!"

Alyssa smiles, "hoy, hindi naman 'to upbeat," she says then plays Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi.

Dennise furrowed her eyebrows while listening to the intro. She eases to her seat as the song continued to play.

Alyssa only watched Dennise's reaction to the song then looks outside with a smile on her face.

"Do I really need to be in your thesis?" Dennise asks.

"Ikaw na lang ang kulang, Dennise, papatayin ako ng prof ko kung mismong captain ng volleyball team ng university natin, wala sa thesis ko."

"You could've interviewed me first, bakit ngayon kung kailan hapit ka na sa oras?"

"Sinabi ko na kanina, I thought it will be easy kasi we're in the same university, and you seemed approachable. Mas masungit ka pa pala sa captain ng rival team natin," Alyssa answered.

Dennise laughs out loud, "oh, she bitched on you?"

"Yeah. Inipon ko lahat ng bait na pwede kong ipunin, muntik niya pang maubos," Alyssa said.

"Paano ba 'yan, I'm bitchier than her?" Dennise asks then looks at Alyssa. Their eyes briefly meet before Dennise had to look away to keep her eyes on the road.

Alyssa smiled.

"I can tell naman if people are really hard to be around with, for me naman, you're not hard to be around with."

"What is it, then?"

Alyssa shrugs, "I don't know. Isn't it enough na sumama ako sayo?"

"Wow! Ikaw nga 'tong nag-aya!"

"That's my point. If I don't like your vibe, I won't ask you to come with me, Dennise. So I think that answers your question."

Dennise chuckles, "you don't even know me yet."

"I trust my instincts."

"Why? What do they tell you?"

Alyssa smiles, "ayoko muna sabihin. Tsaka na, pag close na tayo."

"Asa ka," Dennise says.

Alyssa laughs, "never say never, Dennise."

Alyssa heard Dennise scoff, but unlike earlier when Dennise wears a frown on her face, it was replaced with an amused look.

"Excited na akong mag-bulalo," Alyssa says.

"You owe me coffee," Dennise tells her.

"Kahit lifetime supply pa yan."

"Too confident, Alyssa, too confident," Dennise comments.

Alyssa chuckles, "we'll see, Dennise."
