Chapter 7

Soobin and Taehyun arrived Tuesday afternoon. The meeting with Stray Kids went well. Bang Chan told Soobin that he would keep their eyes and ears open for Markoff as well as keep an eye on their head quarters. Soobin also received a call from Mr. Choi. Markoff had basically vanished. He must have found out that Ari was not in Romania anymore. She was chewing on her finger when Soobin said that.

"So what does that mean for me?" She asked.

"Not sure, to be honest. Obviously, it's not going home. Stay low as much as possible here. Your father said he would keep us updated. We should be safe here, though, for the time being."

Soobin and Taehyun went to their rooms to rest. Beomgyu and Yeonjun decided to go into the city to look around. This is their first time in Alaska. Kai and Soobin had visited years ago, thinking that it would be a good idea to have a safe house here.

"Wanna learn how to use a dagger?" Kai asked. They were in the kitchen, Ari cleaning the dishes they had used for lunch.

"Really? Yeah, I'd love to." She finished up the dishes and followed Kai. He led them to a door and opened it. Stairs were leading down to another level. Ari went first, and her eyes widened when she saw how big the room was. Each corner was designated for a specific skill. One corner had guns hanging on the wall, from small pistols to long, big rifles. The other had a mat and a punching bag. The next corner sat benches, a pull-up bar and a few dumb bells, and the last corner had knives and daggers. She walked over to the knives and daggers and looked at them in awe. There were some good-looking ones. She grabbed the smallest one, looking it over.

"That one would be a good one to start with." Kai said, coming up from behind her. "Start small and move on up."

Ari smiled. "Sounds good, boss."

The next few weeks were full of training sessions for Ari. She spent the first few days with Soobin. Running, pull-ups, weights, and boxing. Let's just say Ari didn't move for hours after the workout. Soobin really knew how to push limits. After one week with Soobin, she could already feel muscles in her arms and legs, and she lost some weight. Soobin made sure that she had plenty of protein for her meals. The next week, she took turns doing martial arts/karate with Taehyun and Yeonjun. There were lots of defense moves that Ayno had not taught her. By the end of those days, she had bruises on everywhere from being kicked and pushed down. Those guys really got on her nerves. At one point, she thought she was going to take down Yeonjun, but he surprised her and flipped her onto her back. She laid there debating whether she wanted to continue or call Dmitri. She went with the obvious answer and continued for another few hours until Kai came and told her to take a break.

Beomgyu was patient and calm when it came to teaching her about guns. It did help that she knew a majority of how to use a gun. She was able to shoot and reload her gun in 30 seconds, which, according to Beomgyu, was pretty good. She kept practicing shooting and reloading, wanting to be faster. When she had enough of that, she did target practice. At the end of the hallway, where Gyu would practice, there was a moving manikin. Beomgyu had gone first, and his bullets hit the exact same spot, right down the middle, even with the manikin moving side to side. Ari tried, and she missed the first few times but eventually was able to get the side of the manikin.

When she wasn't practicing with the four guys, she would spend most of her free time either sleeping, eating, or having one on one combat with Kai in the basement. She used some of the moves that Taehyun and Yeonjun taught her, but Kai always beat her. They tried adding daggers into the combats. Ari would leave the basement with a couple of cuts,nothing deep.

Ari had been at the safe house for a month now. The boys have taught her so much and she was so grateful for it. Her body wasn't aching as much anymore, and she was getting better at everything. She looked over at her phone, laying on her nightstand. It was 4pm. Tess would be coming tonight. Beomgyu and Soobin had left hours ago to go pick her up from the airport. Kai, Yeonjun, and Taehyun were downstairs doing who knows what. She had just waken from a nap after an intense karate session. She finally beat Yeonjun! Ari had slid her leg under his and flipped him onto his back. Everyone cheered for her, including Yeonjun, while he was rubbing his back.
