Chapter 27

Ari was back in her cell, her hands chained above her head, her feet barely touching the ground. Two of Dmitri's men were standing by the door, watching her struggle. Her arms were burning, the chains digging into her wrist. She looked at the men. "Why are you doing this? What did I do?"

The door opened, and Dmitri stepped, more men following behind. "You know exactly what you did, Ari." He stepped forward and punched her in the stomach. She grunted in pain as the air was punched out of her. Tears were streaming down her eyes. 

"Bring her in, Ivan." 

Ari looked over Dmitri's shoulders. "No, no, no!" she yelled out. 

Lara was dragged in by her arms, stopping behind him. Lara was bleeding. Dmitri took a step to the side so Ari could fully see Lara. Her face was in bad shape. A black right eye, a split lip, and a cut on her head that was bleeding. Ari couldn't look, so she turned her head, but a hand grabbed her chin, making her look back at Lara. 

Dmitri grabbed Lara by the hair and yanked her head up. "This is what happens when someone goes behind my back. After everything that I've done for her! I gave her shelter, and she was a wonderful companion. She kept my house spotless while I was away. Come to find out, she had a change of heart and hates me. She decided to help you. " 

"You're a sick bastard, Markoff. It was all me! I forced her to help me. Do whatever you want with me. Just don't hurt her!" yelled Ari. She could feel blood running down her arms from the chains. 

Dmitri shook his head. "Nah, it wasn't you. It was all her. I know because I used my own method of getting information. We caught her just in time while she was on the phone with your boyfriend. I was very surprised he survived. Those wounds weren't looking good when We left." 

Ari tried to kick him with all her strength but failed. Dmitri took out a knife and raised Lara's head. "Such a shame that I have to do this. I really loved you, Lara." 

Ari struggled with her chains. He was going to kill her. "Please don't! Please!" 

Dmitri motioned to one of his men, and he walked over, back handing Ari. Her head turned to the left, just as Dmitri took the knife and slit Lara's throat. She fell, landing on her face, a puddle of blood surrounding her. Ari cried. 

"Get her body out of here. I'm going to have some fun with Ari." 

She watched as her body was dragged out. If Lara was unable to tell Kai their destination, that means he wasn't coming. She was going to die tonight. She bowed her head, listening to footsteps coming in and out. The door shut. She looked up, and it was just Dmitri. 

"Sorry that I had to ruin your chance of being rescued." He smirked.

"Why do you even want me?" She whispered out, her body becoming weaker and weaker. 

"This game of cat and mouse is so much fun. My favorite was Kai thinking that he had you, just to lose you. If that makes sense." 

If looks could kill, he would be dead. "Do your worst, Markoff." 

Markoff chuckled, holding up a sharp knife. "Oh, I plan too. You'll be seeing your family soon." 

Kai's POV 

Hours later, they finally landed in an empty airport that looked like it hadn't been used in years. They got off the jet and saw black cars line up and a black van.  Nam-joon standing next to one. He walked over to them, Soobin and him shaking hands. "We are ready. I have all my guys with me." 

"Perfect, we are gonna need them if we want to take out Markoff once and for all." Soobin said. 

Nam-joon motioned them to the car near the front. "We were able to locate them. They are in a warehouse in the forest. It's an hour drive. We will park a few miles away so they won't see us coming." 

TXT got in the van, Soobin driving, Kai in the passenger seat, and the other three in the back. They followed Nam-joon. Beomgyu was loading the guns. Taehyun passed out the earpieces to the guys, fitting them into their ears and testing to make sure they worked. 

Kai was getting antsy. He hoped that they were still there and that Ari was still alive. He was not going to lose her this time, and he was going to kill Markoff. Beomgyu passed out the guns to each of them, flipping the safety on. They were getting close. It was midnight, completely dark. 

"Nam-joon, over. Turn your headlights off. We are gonna park soon." 

They parked in front of a tree line. Cars were turned off and shut quietly. They met in the middle, Soobin and Nam-joon going over instructions. 

Beomgyu, Suga, Jimin, and Yeonjun were going first, taking out any guards surrounding the warehouse with their silencer. Taehyun, Jin, and Jungkook were in charge of taking out the security cameras. The rest would be going inside to find Ari once they got the all-clear. Kai, Taehyung, Ho-seok, Soobin, and Nam-joon.

12 guys walked through the trees, ready for a fight. Ari will be saved, and Dmitri would meet his demise.
