Markoff's POV

Dmitri Markoff sat in his office, in front of his computer screen. One of his trusted men, Alek, was standing in front of his desk, arms behind his back, waiting for his instructions.

Dmitri leaned back in his chair and placed his hands on his stomach. He looked up at Alek.  "Track Huening Kai down and rough him up a little for me. Tell him Ari tried to escape and that this is her doing. That is all."

Alek bows his head. "Yes, sir." He turns around and heads out the door. He stops at the weapon room and grabs the sharpest knife he can find. Sergei is his brother and is still unconscious. Ari would pay for what she did to him.

Alek walked out and got inside a black Audi. He pulled his cell out and dialed a number.

"Hello, Alek."

"Any word on his location?" He asked.

"Eastern Mongolia, isolate area in the forest, close to a city."

"That's it? What city?" Alek asked, very annoyed.

The person hung up.

"Useless shit." Alek tossed his phone onto the passenger side and sped out of the driveway. He will find Kai. It can't be that hard.

Ari's POV

Ari laid on her mattress, staring up at the ceiling.  It's been a few days since her failed escape. The only person who came down was the one that slid her stale food. Yeah, she was back to eating stale and semi murky water. Every once in a while, she would be given tea during dinner.

She had just finished dinner and was lying down, reading one of the books Sergei had given her. It's more like just skimming since she couldn't read Russian. She sighed and gave up, placing the book down beside her. Ari sat up when she heard heavy footsteps behind the door.

The knob twisted open, Dmitri walking in with a smirk on his face. Behind him was Sergei. "Evening."

Ari didn't move. She just glared at the two.

"I believe you owe Sergei here an apology." Dmitri stepped up to the cell, his arms around his back. Sergei came to stand beside him, looking down at her. He was very pleased with her.

"I'm sorry, Sergei...for not killing you." She looked up at him, staring him down with her deep, brown eyes. There was no light in her eyes anymore.

"Why, you bitch!" Sergei shouted, banging his hands against the bars, making her jump. "I've shown you no harm while you were here." He paused, them smirks at her. "I hope Alek beats him well."

Ari was confused at first, but then  realization struck her. Her eyes widen, quickly standing up, using the wall for support. "NO! You wouldn't dare!"

Dmitri laughed. "Huening Kai definitely won't be coming anytime soon after Alek is done with him." With that, he left, walking out the door.

Sergei looked at her, arms crossed. "Shouldn't have done it." He followed behind Dmitri, slamming the door.

Ari sunk to the ground, her body shaking, tears falling. She pulled her knees to her body and wrapped her arms around them, burying her head. The sounds of cries were the only thing heard in the little room. Her failed escape cost Kai's life. She prayed hard for Kai, for her friends, and for her life.
