Chapter 1

Knock, knock, knock.

Huening Kai waited at the front door of the Choi mansion. He looked around while he waited. The mansion hasn't changed one bit since the last time he visited, which was 2 years ago. The brick pathway had tulips on each side, leading from the driveway to the door. Mrs. Choi Seri absolutely loved tulips. The long circle driveway was also brick. In the middle of the circle drive was a tall stone water fountain, with the greenest grass that was under the fountain. Nothing at the Choi mansion was out of place. Seri was very particular about how she wanted everything when they moved here 15 years ago. They used to live in South Korea, but Mr. Choi moved his family and gang to Bucharest, Romania. Yes, you read correctly. Gang. Mr. Choi Yujun is the leader of his group. It's a small gang, but none the less, a good one. His two sons, Ho Sung and Ayno, are included. His daughter, not so much.

"Coming!" Yelled a high-pitched voice. The door opened, revealing a stressed out Seri, but once she saw who it was, she smiled.

"Huening Kai! Is that really you? It's been a while! Please, come in." She stepped aside to let him in.

Huening Kai bowed. "It's nice to see you, Mrs. Choi Seri. It has been a while, 2 years at the most. House looks lovely as ever."

"Thank you, I do try my best." She shut the door and turned to face Kai. "I'm assuming you're attending our gala tonight. Are the other guys coming, too?"

"Yes, they are. They are at the hotel right now. I thought I'd stop by beforehand and see Ari, if that's okay with you." Kai said.

"Of course! She will be so thrilled to see you. Literally, all I've heard for the past two weeks is Kai is coming to Romania!" Seri laughed. "She's in her room, probably raiding her closet. I'll see you later." She bowed her head and walked down towards the kitchen.

He bowed back and walked towards the stairwell. Kai was excited to see her. They have known each other since they were young, their father's being close friends. When Ari moved, it was a sad day for both since they were so close. Thankfully, they were able to communicate via texting and face timing. Once in a while, if Kai wasn't busy, he would come and visit or she would travel to see him. The last time they saw one another, 2 years ago, Ari was the one that traveled to Seoul and stayed with TXT for a month. That was a great month, not just for them but for the others. Ari was close with the other guys, obviously not as close as she was with Kai. Beomgyu, Taehyun, Soobin, and Yeonjun were basically her brothers, and she loved each one dearly.

Huening Kai reached the top of the stairwell and took a left down the wide hallway. Her bedroom was the last door. He reached her door, took a deep breath, and knocked 3 times.

"Go away, Ho-sung. I'm not in the mood to talk to you." She yelled back.

Kai laughed. "It's not Ho-sung." He heard footsteps coming to the door. The door slowly opened, and a head popped out from the side.

"Huening Kai?" Ari asked, confused."

"Hello to you too, Choi Ari." He smiled.

Ari smiled and opened the door. "Oh my gosh! Kai!" She jumped and threw her arms around his neck. Kai laughed and put his arms around her.

"I'm so happy to see you! I wasn't expecting to see you until tonight." She pulled back to look up at him, hands resting on his shoulders.

"I wanted to surprise you, and I really didn't want to wait until 7 pm." He looked down at her. She looked the same as she did 2 years ago, but somehow more beautiful. Ari had beautiful brown eyes and a smile that could brighten anyone's day. She was an angel.

Ari stepped back and crossed her arms, tilting her head to the side. "Did the other guys come too?"

"Yeah, they are at the hotel. They are very excited to see you as well."
