~ Marley's POV ~
Natalie is still asleep. I got up about two minutes ago. I'm sitting in Natalie's chair, and then I receive a text, from my date.
Rory: Hey! Can I take you out tonight? ;)
I smiled down at my phone, and replied.
Me: Of course! I'm very excited. :)
Rory: Me too! <3
I texted back a heart, and then waited to see if he would reply. He did within a minute.
Rory: Did you tell Natalie about our date?
Oh no; I still haven't. I have to. Maybe I will when she wakes up.
Me: No... :(
Rory: I really like you, but Natalie is my friend. Even more important, she's your best friend. She needs to know, or she'll me mad at both of us.
Me: I know... Don't worry, I'll tell her!
Rory: Okay. She you tonight, my beautiful date. <3
Me: See you later, cutie. <3
We were flirting through the phone. Our friends would be so disgusted. I laughed to myself and then realized that Natalie had woken up. I have to tell her.
~ Natalie's POV ~
I woke up, and reached for my phone to check it. As I was doing that, I saw that Marley was already awake. It looked like she was texting.
"Good morning," she smiled when she saw me.
"Good morning," I yawned.
I pressed the home button on my phone. It was 9:24 AM, and Benny had sent me a text.
Benny: Hey! Did you tell Marley what happened?
I remembered last night. Before I replied, I thought about everything that happened. The video games, the eavesdropping, the awkwardness, the broken TV, and then it hit me.
"And we may have broke the TV. We wanted to know if Benny could use a spell to fix it," Ethan had said to Benny the night before.
Spell? I was too busy thinking about Marley at the time, and I didn't even realize what Ethan said. Is Benny a magician? A wizard? The guy I like can cast spells?
I quickly started to reply to Benny. He had only sent his text ten minutes before, so he should see my reply soon enough.
Me: No. :/ I got nervous. It was awkward last night. I'll tell her. Btw, we need to talk later, preferably today.
I waited for his reply. It was only two minutes before I received it.
Benny: Okay, you chicken. ;) And what about? Did something happen?
Me: Lol shut up you geek. :p And you'll find out soon.
Benny: Okay, and you love this geek. ;)
Me: Lol whatever XD
This stuff happens a lot. We do this to each other, especially when texting. I think it's actually kind of cute, but I don't let him know that.
I tuned back into reality and looked at Marley again, who was still on her phone.
"When did you get up?" I asked, sitting up on the bed.
"Like two minutes before you woke up," she answered. "Wow, you're actually earlier today," she teased.
"I know. You should be proud of me," I replied and threw a pillow at her. It was finally less awkward.
"I am," she said and she threw the pillow back at me.
We both laughed.
I thought about asking her if she liked Rory. It's a good way to see if she'll tell me she's going on a date with him. She'll have to tell me anyway because she'll get all dressed up for her date and tell me why she is.
"So.. Who are you texting?" I smirked.
"A friend," she smiled. She was trying to hold back her blush.
"Come on; tell me who it is," I kept the smirk on my face. "Does someone have a crush?" I teased.
She was definitely blushing now. "Stop it!" she smiled.
"With vampire boy?" I went on.
"Okay, okay! I like Rory, but please don't freak out over it," she admitted.
"It's okay. I have a crush on a wizard," I said for the first time.
"Wait, what?" Marley was confused.
"Yeah, in the middle of everything that happened last night, Ethan said they broke the TV, and then asked if Benny could use a spell to fix it. I just now realized that he said that. I texted Benny and told him we needed to talk. He's never told me," I said. Looks like we're all keeping things from each other. Benny probably didn't mean to, though. He acted as if I already knew. Maybe he forgot. I'm not mad at him. It's not as bad as being a vampire, at least I don't think it is.
"Benny's a wizard?!" Marley was shocked.
"Wizard, magician, whatever it is, yes," I laughed.
"I wonder what special power Ethan has," Marley said with a thinking face on.
"You're right. Benny and Ethan have to fight somehow, and they probably both have a special power to help them. Benny uses magic. I wonder what Ethan does," I agreed. I've never thought about that. "They left out a lot of information when they told us about the vampires," I laughed.
"Yeah, but it was probably because Benny was just focusing on the vampire thing. He was worrying about that, and forgot to tell you the rest. Rory, Erica and Sarah are all vampires, so that was definitely the most important thing," she explained her theory.
"Yeah, but don't worry; I'm not mad at him. We don't have to go on an avoiding spree again," I said, and we both laughed.
"Wow, you live a crazy life," Marley said.
"And you're dragged right into it," I said. We both laughed again.
There were a few seconds of silence.
Marley looked down with a sad look on her face. "I really wish I didn't have to leave tomorrow," she said.
"Me too. Why can't you just move here?" I asked, knowing she can't.
"I don't know. Maybe because of my parent's jobs, or money. I don't know," she was still looking down. "I've made some great new friends," she looked back up at me. "I want to stay longer so bad."
"I know. I really wish you could. Everyone's going to miss you," I said.
"It would be so cool if I could live with you," she said while looking around my room.
"It would! Your family and friends back home would miss you, though."
"Yeah, I know. I would miss them, too."
"So how has Whitechapel been?" I asked, changing the subject.
She smiled. "It's been wonderful," she said. "There was a rough start, but I had such a good time."
"Yeah, I guess it took a few days to get to know everyone since we avoided them until Tuesday. I'm sorry about that, by the way," I gave an apologetic look.
"Don't be. I came at just the right time," she kept smiling.
"You did. If it wasn't for you, I would've still been mad at him for a longer time," I started smiling, too.
"Yeah," she laughed, and then in about two seconds, her smile faded.
"There's something I need to tell you," she admitted.
"I have to tell you something, too," I said.
