~ Marley's POV ~
I walked inside and went to Natalie's room, where she was still awake.
"Marley! How did it go?" she asked as soon as she saw me.
"It went great. He's really nice," I said. I didn't know what to say. I was nervous and didn't want to accidentally say that I wanted to be a vampire.
"Nice? That's it?" she questioned.
"He's also funny..."
"Did you have fun?"
"Yeah, I did."
"Well, that's all that matters," she quietly said, and then looked at me. "You're leaving tomorrow... I'm going to miss you."
"I'll miss you, too..." and then I got an idea. "Except, I don't have to."
"What?" Natalie was confused.
"I want to stay here," I said.
"But you can't. What about your friends at home? Your parents have jobs."
"They can get new jobs, and when you left, it was hard making new friends. I don't have any close friends back home," I said, looking at the floor.
"Oh, I'm sorry that happened..."
"Yeah, but it's okay. I'll just stay here with you."
"You most likely can't. Your parents won't let you."
"I've made great friends here. I met an amazing boy. Everything works out better for me here," I said, and wondered if that sounded a little bit selfish.
"Sounds like it worked a lot better for you than it did for me. When I got here, I was terrified, the guy I like doesn't like me back, and I'm different. They all have some kind of special ability. I don't know about Ethan, but he probably does. The girls are vampires. Benny is a wizard. Your boyfriend is a vampire-"
"Well, not my boyfriend yet," I smiled.
"But he would be if you stayed. Anyway, I'm normal, which makes me different. I don't want to be a vampire, or a wizard, but it would be nice if someone else related to me," she said.
"I relate to you. That's why I should stay," I said.
"I agree with you, but you know it's not going to work."
