Benny celebrated as our second class ended and it was time for lunch. I had brought my own lunch. I don't like eating food from the school.
We walked in and picked a table.
"What's up?!" a very energetic blond boy asked.
"Um.. Hi.. Who are you?" I asked.
"The more important question is, who are you?" he flirted while making the best face he possibly could, but it's not going to work, because Benny has already won me over.
"Rory, stop freaking her out," Ethan said.
"So I'm guessing you're name is Rory?" I asked.
"Yeah, and I still haven't got your name, or phone number," he tried to wink, but he's already lost.
"Her name is Natalie and her phone number is not yours to worry about," Benny scolded him.
"Ok, fine, but she's probably mad at you now because you're preventing her from her future love life," Rory was so wrong; he didn't realize that I wanted my future love life to be with Benny, who was already my best friend. I wasn't going to tell anyone that, though.
"Natalie," Benny said, ignoring Rory, "Rory was in our second class," he told me, then whispered "but we didn't introduce you to him because he annoys us, and he'd annoy you, even though he's our friend."
"And Benny didn't want him flirting with you," Ethan whispered and Benny hit him again while I laughed.
"What are we whispering about?" Rory joined.
"We're not whispering anymore," Benny said in his normal voice.
We all started to eat our lunch when two older girls walked to our table.
"I have to introduce you to our friends," Ethan said to me.
"Wow! A girl is actually talking to you guys!" The short girl with black hair said.
"Very funny, and you're girls, too," Benny said.
"Yeah, well," a blond-haired girl said, and then looked at me, "I'm Erica, and if you want to hang out with the cool people, we'll be over there," and then she walked away.
"I'm Sarah," the other girl said. "See you around," then she followed Erica.
"They are our friends, but they don't like to admit it, especially Erica," Ethan said.
"Yeah, I can tell. They left pretty quick," I agreed.
"At least you're not ashamed to be with the cool people," Benny tried to brag about himself.
"But the cool people are over there," I teased him while motioning my hand towards Sarah and Erica.
"Hey!" Benny acted offended.
"I'm just kidding!" I assured him. "I love hanging out with you guys."
"Even me?" asked Rory. He's trying way too hard. Am I really that pretty? Maybe he's just really desperate.
"...Hi Rory..." was all I said.
"You try to deny it, but we both know that you can't get enough of the Rorster," did he really just give himself a nickname?
"Wow..."
All three of them were all ready becoming my friends, even Rory. I actually made three friends on the first day, thanks to Benny. Sarah and Erica would possibly become my friends as well. School wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after all.
