Chapayev checked the ID of the woman who had just arrived at the port, as well as her travel papers. "Well, there you go. Keep in mind that since you aren't military or a contractor, this special dispensation is strictly monitored. If you stay longer than your allotted days, we will have to take you in."

The woman in question wasn't a part of Azur Lane, she was visiting the base for her own reasons. She wasn't the tallest woman around, but she did have a distinct presence, and though her younger wilder years were well behind her, she seemed to have more matured than aged, even though no one would mistake her for a sibling of some of the younger officers, like the commander. She had long, blond hair worn in a single braid that was slung over the front of her shoulders, and bright, blue eyes that needed help from the oval glasses that were perched on her nose. She wasn't exactly dressed for island-hopping, having arrived in a cream-colored turtleneck sweater and a black skirt. But even though her curves weren't exceptional by the standards of the island base of Azur Lane, she did have something quite distinct- a wedding band on her right hand.

And though she didn't seem especially energetic, there did seem to be the sense that she was ready to spring into action at a moment's notice when the right time came.

The woman in question smiled at Chapayev. "Don't worry, even though this is the first time I've paid a visit to the base, they told me all about where I'm not allowed to go. I won't make any more work for you than you already have, and I won't throw away a rare opportunity like this one."

"Good. you'll want to report to the commander's office." Chapayev handed all of the documents back to the visitor. "I know it's not strictly necessary, but he likes to know who is and isn't running around. Just consider it a matter of politeness."

"Don't worry, I don't plan to disappoint anyone while I'm here."

"Very good." Chapayev put on her smile. "Anyways, don't let me detain you."

When Chapayev said something like that, it was as much as a warning as a goodbye.

After she finished up her business with Chapayev, she turned to pick up her luggage, only to find that a couple of maids had already taken charge of her things. Curacoa smiled at her. "Welcome to Azur Lane. I am Curacoa, and this is my sister, Curlew. We will be taking your things to your guest quarters in the Royal dorms. Is this all right?"

She smiled. "If you're willing to help, then I'm not going to turn it down."

Curacoa curtsied, and then the pair of maids made off with her luggage.

The visitor was left to think to herself. It's no wonder he likes it here- everyone is so hardworking.

She soon made her way onto the grounds of the base. She had been given a map before coming here and was deeply informed as to where she was not supposed to be if she wanted to remain a free woman, but there were still plenty of places she could go. First priority would be the commander's office, as she was actually curious about what kind of person ran this base.

At least, that was the plan until she was run into by something very distinctly pink.

The bell on Kisaragi's tail jingled as she collided with the woman. The destroyer had been nervously running around, and now stood frozen as she looked up at the unfamiliar human with her big, blue eyes. Soon enough, the visitor looked at the cat-eared girl, and only one thought came to mind. "Ah, a kitten. Are you lost?"

Kisaragi squeaked. "Ah... No... Me and some of the others were supposed to go into town, and I was supposed to meet them, but..." Kisaragi quivered. "Ah... Please don't eat me!"
