He was driving while singing a song. It was their favourite song. She started singing along with her brother.

"You know what after how long time we are going together?" she asked, smiling.

He smiled back.

"1 year, 6 months, sixteen days," he said.

She stared at him for a while and then she chuckled.

"I am sorry, I was unable to give you time Hala. I know I promised Mom, I promised you to always take care of you," he said.

"Hey, you have been the best brother," she said.

He smiled.

They arrived at their usual restaurant.

"My treat," he said.

"Usual," she said, smiling.

"You know I have a change of taste, I am practicing veganism," Hala said.

"Since when?" he asked.

She stared at him.

"Okay, Okay, I know I have to know a lot," he said.

She rolls her eyes.

"Order," he said.

She started going through the menu when his phone rang. He answered the call.

"Yeah Hunza," he said.

She looked up at her brother from the top of her eye socket.

"Oh, don't worry. I will ask them to do it," he said and went quiet. Hunza was telling him something from the other side.

He scratches his forehead.

"Oh, okay, let me talk to him," he said and hung up.

"Amm...Hala, could you wait here for a while? I need to buy some surgical instruments and Hunza said she is having trouble getting a few. I must talk to my friend. I will be back in fifteen minutes," he said.

"Okay," she said, shortly and started checking the menu again. He got up and kissed her forehead.

She smiled and he walked off.

She put the menu down and wiped tears from the corner of her eyes.

"He has no time for me since he got engaged," she thought.

She had lost her appetite so she did not want to order anything.

She called the waiter and asked him to serve wine. It was the first time she was drinking.

After a while, he brought a glass and a wine bottle. He filled the glass with the wine and was about to turn when she called him.

"Leave the bottle here," she said.

He stared at her for a while and then he left the bottle on her table. She started taking sips.

She stared at the wristwatch she was wearing; which Emaad gave her on her last birthday. It was pink with a lot of white and pink glitter on it; she put it off and threw it away, angrily.

It took her a few more minutes to compose herself and then she decided to go back home. She was about to get up when someone approached her.

"Excuse me,".

She looked up. It was a man who had brownish, Hazel eyes; a very kind of heterochromia. She looked at him, confused.

"I am sorry to approach you like this, but you have thrown this watch and it hit my leg," he said, showing her the watch in his hand.
