"You are my trophy wife," his words were breaking her heart so much. She walked towards the chair and sat on it. Laughing faces, chatting nothing could lift her mood. It was obvious that she was not feeling well.
Just then someone approached her, the person called her. She looked up and light grey eyes met hers.
"With whom you have come here?" he asked, softly. He was much older than her, maybe in his mid-40s.
She did not answer. He sat beside her. She got up.
"Where are YOU leaving?" he asked.
"I don't want to talk, Please leave me alone," she said and walked off. He stares at her leaving. A smirk appeared on his face.
She was looking at Roman dancing with some random girl. His words, You are my trophy wife was echoed in her head.
"This is the man I married?" she thought. He instantly looks at her. Her big bright eyes were sad behind the mask.
He was looking at her coldly.
Just then the same man approached her.
"I have told you to leave me alone," she said, annoyed.
"Come on, I am not here to tease you. I mean I am so older than you," he said. She looked up at him instantly. She could see him smiling behind the mask.
She took a deep breath.
"No one cares about age here. You can see how much 'enjoying' they are," she said looking at Roman who was now dancing with some middle-aged woman.
The man looks at Roman and then at her.
"Care to dance?" he asked.
She glared at him.
"Come on hazel bird, I won't bite and you are like a daughter to me," he said.
Her eyes widen because in this kind of gathering men usually don't call women their daughters even if they are twice older than them.
"Trust me, I mean it, now can we dance?" he asked, stretching his hands in front of her.
She looked at his hand.
"Come on Hazel bird," he said and she chuckled this time.
"I knew it you gonna like me," he said, winking at her.
She smiled.
"You remind me of my uncle," she said while holding his hand. They were now moving towards the floor.
They started dancing.
"Uncle who?" he asked.
"My uncle, I live with, he talks to me like this," she said.
The man chuckled.
"What is your name?" he asked.
"For you, I am an angel, so call me an angel," he said.
She gasped.
"This is not fair, then for you I am Hazel Bird," she said.
He chuckled.
He was an expert at dancing as well.
"So you came here alone?" he asked.
She opened her mouth to say something when someone interrupted them. Someone she wanted to last to talk to her right now.
