"I think I'll start smoking," Leona said quietly, watching Shanks move away from them, sinking further into the chair, pulling the blanket over her shoulders, covering herself with her hands on the armrests. She felt a bit like a king. Dragged across the throne room by his hair, puked on by his own cat, but a king nonetheless.
"I'll just make you some tea," Belly, who had finished tending to Leona's injuries, said, pushing herself up to a standing position, quietly complaining about how the old bones were stretching slightly.
"Coffee," Leona said, watching Belly walk away towards the nearest pirate ship.
''No, tea, melissa is coming to you'' Belly said over her shoulder, waving her hand slightly, to which Leona groaned, tilting her head back.
"Why does this woman have to be so stubborn," Leona muttered, then closed her eyes for a moment.
After a moment, she opened them, looking at Vincent standing next to her a few steps away, who was the only one now with her, having a view of the remains of the battlefield with her.
"So," she said, and sighed softly. "How's the situation?"
"No loss of our men, we stayed back as you ordered. A few wounded, they'll recover. They are already taking care of the damage to the ship." Vincent said calmly, standing by her side with his arms crossed behind his back. "Quite a few soldiers mutinied. Mak's entire unit followed him, many from other units joining in."
"How many?" she interrupted him, resting her chin on her hand, tapping her fingers on the armrest thoughtfully.
"We are doing a thorough census, so far we have counted 1,652 people" Vincent said, and Leona looked at him in surprise.
"Almost two thousand and you're not done yet," she muttered under her breath, repeating the number in her head. "That's a large number of people."
" It's like dominoes. Just push and the rest will fall," Vincent said, his violet eyes focused on the surroundings as he watched the movement on the battlefield as everyone was busy with something, whether it was the wounded or collecting the bodies of the dead.
"There's something to it," she muttered, leaning back in her chair, her eyes following Vincent's.
"Toru and Haruka wanted to see you," Vincent said suddenly.
"Oh no," Leona muttered with a sigh, closing her eyes and tilting her head back. "Haruka will kill me when she sees my condition. And Toru... well, it's Toru."
"Don't worry, I kept Haruke busy in the kitchen, so he won't come. And Toru helps with ship repairs, maybe he'll survive," Vincent said, smiling slightly when he talked about Toru.
Leona let out a breath of relief.
"Very good. Keep them occupied. Let them see me in about two months."
"You know it's impossible..."
"I have this damn lemon balm!" Belly exclaimed, quickly closing the distance between them, carrying a mug of brew in her hand, her brow furrowed. "I had to go through so many things to find even some lemon balm. How on earth can pirates fight us with so much alcohol? They literally don't even have that much food, what's wrong with their stomachs - Belly grumbled, briskly walking over and handing the cup to Leonie.
"I assume there's something wrong with them," Leona muttered, taking a mug with a small "thanks," blowing lightly into the brew and taking a sip. "I burned my tongue. But you should have lit a cigarette" she mumbled, sticking her tongue out slightly and huffing.
"Come on, don't whine, you had to wait a while," Belly said, shaking her head with a heavy sigh. "You're starting to complain about everything like my grandma, it's obvious you're getting old," she said, sitting on one of the crates, intertwining her fingers and leaning on her elbows on her knees.
