I remember that fight before we fell in love,
Where you first told me her name
And said I could never live up to the memory,
Nor was I important enough to consider it.
I wonder if you lied
Because I see her reflection in the ponds of this garden
Where we commit a morbid threesome of necrophilia.
I sense hesitation when you utter her name
And now, you no longer run.
You write me the same poems in a different font,
Where your confessions deepen with every kiss.
You call me by her nickname,
And threaten me with the same fate.
I hope you know, I do not fear you,
I only fear myself.
Not wishing to be a casualty of this war,
I sacrificed my purity.
I only ran,
Before the serpent took me first,
As he wraps around my ankles,
Before I grab you.
