Valentina's pov:
The night envelopes the city as I lean against a black car. The dress I'm wearing making me feel a little bit chilly since nights in Los Angeles can be really cold sometimes.
On my right side stand two bodyguards and same on my left side. The first one on my right side holds a duffel bag in front of her.
With a quick glance I check my watch seeing it's exactly 9:40 pm. And as if on cue two black SUV's pull up opposite my crew and I.
One thing you need to know about Blake Duarte is that bitch is never ever late.
The car doors open. Blake getting out first from the back seat two men accompanying her side. She whispers something to them in Spanish that I couldn't quite hear.
The blonde meets my eyes, a smirk on her face as she leans against her car's hood. "Got my stuff?" She asks, nodding towards the duffel bag.
"You got my money?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Ponlo en el medio." She nods to one of the guys who steps forward placing a duffel bag in between us.
"Put it in the middle.""Controllalo." I order to the man on my left. Without hesitation he steps forwards towards the bag unzipping it and showing it towards me.
"Check it."I break the intense eye contact I hold with Blake, my eyes looking towards the money in the bag.
"Everything's in there." Blake says, cutting through the silence like a knife.
"Better be." I scoff still scanning the bag. After I decide it looks real I nod to the girl on my right. She steps forward dropping the bag in her hands next to the money bag. "Prendi i soldi." I say to the man crouching next to the money. He listens zipping the bag up and putting it over his shoulder before returning to my side. "Bring the money."
"Check it." Blake orders to one of her men, her eyes returning on mine.
"Everything's in there." I mock her sentence from earlier, seeing her jaw visibly clench.
She doesn't respond to my teasing remarks, instead she looks at the stuff inside the bag before returning her eyes onto mine. "Tráelo aquí." She orders and the man picks up the bag carrying it in front of him as he stands next to Blake. "Bring it here."
"Pleasure doing business with you." I say a smirk plastered on my face.
"Can't say the same." Blake scoffs, reaching inside her blazer making my men draw guns pointing them all at her this reaction causes Blake's crew to draw their guns pointing them at us.
A chuckle slips past my lips as say "Mettili giù." My crew listens immediately putting their weapons back. "Put them down."
"Put them down." Blake says, and her men listen, putting their guns away. "Trained them well huh?" She brings a cigarette up to her lips, lighting it.
"Only the best." I answer.
"Surprising really." She blows out a puff of smoke.
"What's surprising?" I ask, meeting her eyes through the smoke that has formed jn front of her.
"That you only brought 6 people." She says. "Your dad would always bring a fucking army." A chuckle slips past her lips along with more smoke.
"Well, I do things differently." I say. "And maybe it isn't just 6 people."
"What are you talking about?" She snickers.
"Always be aware of your surroundings Blake." I say, my voice low. "Always."
Blake studies my features for a moment, she waves her hand making everyone around her get in the car closing the door.
"Andare." I tell my crew. They nod entering the car, leaving Blake and I alone in the cold air. "Go."
"That supposed to be a threat?" She questions dropping the cigarette on the floor before stepping on it.
"Maybe. Who knows." I shrug my shoulders, taking a step forwards.
"It better not be." She says stepping forward as well.
"And what are you going to do if it is?" I ask, tilting my head to the side as we are now face to face.
"230 Lincoln Road, upstairs, second room on the right. On the door in pink glittery letters there is written 'Lily'." She says before pausing for a moment. I fell my heart beat faster and anger flood my veins. "You should think about that before you threaten me."
"If you touch her." I grit through my teeth. "I swear to God Blake-"
"What did I just say about threatening me?" She cuts me off with a chuckle.
"Two can play this game Blake. Don't forget that." I say, patting her shoulder before turning around and walking away.
I enter the car slamming the door after me.
"Where to ma'am?" The driver asks.
"230 Lincoln Road."
