Blake's pov:

"Boss I really think you should have stayed in the hospital." Jay says as we make our way through the hospital doors my hand clutching my ribs.

"And I agree." My brother says nodding his head.

"Oh, let me live. I'm fine." I say, annoyance evident in my voice. Jay opens the back door for me and I slide in the back SUV my ribs hurting at the gesture. "Mierda." I curse under my breath. "Shit."

"Blake why are you helping Valentina?" My borther asks as he closes the door and Jay starts driving the car.

"I'm not sure if you get it brother." I scoff. "She basically saved my life by bringing me to the hospital."

"She's the one who caused you to be in that hospital in the first place." He fires back and I feel myself getting more defensive about Valentina.

"Ella estaba protegiendo a los suyos, tal como lo habrías hecho tú." I state, and he falls into silence carefully chosing his words. "She was protecting her own. Just like you would have."

"She's still a D'Angelo Blake. Dad would have killed you if he-"

"Dad is in fucking prison!" I cut him off. "And he left this all to me. He left it to me when I was 16 so let me lead the way I fucking want Leon, because by this point I know what the fuck I'm doing."

"Blake we are at war with them, we have been for ages so whatever little crush you have on Va-"

"Just because I'm human Leon and I want to help someone doesn't mean I'm in love with them." I cut him off again feeling frustration build in my veins.

"We are here boss." Jay announces as the vehicle comes to a stop.

I don't say another word to Leon before leaving the car and storming inside the building in front of me. As I enter I see all my men and women dressed accordingly and patiently waiting for me to turn up. When I do enter all of them stand up and silnece fills the room.

"Right," I start off rubbing my hands together. "First of all thank you for being here on such a short notice. I appreciate it." They all nod and I continue. "Second of all. Whatever grudge you hold against D'Angelo's will be dropped. At least for the next few days."

A couple of shocked gasps errupt in the room and one of the men steps forward his look challenging me.

"I'm not doing that ma'am. They are the enemies." He sternly says and I let a chuckle slip from my lips.

"Paul, listen to me." I say walking closer to me. I pull the gun out of my waistband and bring it to his head. He swallows deeply still trying to maintain his "I'm not scared" face. "I don't remember giving you a fucking choice. You do as I say. Or, well let's just say I will need to call the cleaning crew here. Understood?"

He takes a deep breath before answering with a "yes ma'am."

"Good." I say stepping back in front of everyone. "Anyone else?" I say stuffing the gun back in my waistband. All I receive back is shakes of head and a satisfied smile flashes on my face.

"Now I am going to make a phone call and until then I want you to split into teams of 4."

I hear a them say "Yes ma'am." In unison and I walk out of the building. Just as I take my phone out Leon reaches me.

"Blake you've lost it completely." He says.

"Don't tell me what to do and how to do it Leon." I spit.

"I am your older borther I-"

"You what huh? You left me to lead a mafia at 16 so you can go to a fancy ass college and get yourself out of here!" I shout at him and watch his mouth drop. "I know what I am doing. So don't get in my way because if you do it won't be fucking pretty."

His face expressions switch to angry but he walks away folding his arms in frustration.

"Jay!" I call Jay over from the car he's leaning against. He spots me and makes his way over to me.

"What's up?" He asks.

"Get me whiskey. I'm too sober for this shit." He nods but before he walks away I stop him by grabbing his arm. "You smoke no?" He nods. "Give me one." He pulls out a cigarette from his blazer and a lighter before handing it to me.

I place the cigarette in between my lips and light it with the lighter before giving the lighter back to Jay and tapping his back. "Thanks." He nods leaving me there alone.

I lean my back against a wall before letting out a big cloud of smoke from my cigarette. My left hand holds the cigarette while my right hand opens my phone and presses call on Valentina's contact.

"Blake?"

She answers almost immediately, her voice sounding a little bit confused.

"I wanna help." I say.

"With what?"

"Finding your sister."

"Blake-"

"I've already got my men gathered up." I cut her off. "I will send you a location and you just get your men here. We are stronger together."

"Blake this is too much." She sighs.

"Just listen to me Val. You can go back to hating me after this." I take another puff from the cigarette and release it before continuing. "We can get along and you know that. " by saying that I know Val will know what I am referring to.

She takes a deep breath before answering. "Send me the location."

I hang up the phone and immediately semd her my location. When I see she read it I slip my phone back in my pocket. As I hold the cigarette I notice my hands shaking slightly. I've been without a drink for too fucking long. This shouldn't be allowed.
