Part 31

Gem's POV:

Since when did I ever care if it was raining?

Just because he's afraid of the thunderclaps?

But why rain right now, of all days?

The sound of the thunderclaps is enough to get Fot scared to death, so I wonder whether he's still waiting by the gate.

There's no way he's staying there. He's been there, waiting for hours. He cannot be waiting that long.

Also, given how heavy the rain is, I doubt it would end that quickly.

But you know what? If he's still out there, I don't care about it.

He never cared about you and your feelings. Why do you have to worry about how he is now? It's not worth it. You're hurting now, Gem, and it's all because of him.

Stop worrying.

3rd POV:

Gem ignored it and returned to going over the files, a strange feeling in the back of his head that he was trying not be distracted about.

Later, he stepped out of his office to look for the maids downstairs since he was in need of another cup of coffee, but he was unable locate them. As he turned to go back to his office, he was confused to see them at the door; one of them was hurriedly returning inside while holding an umbrella.

"He won't eat or even drink, and now he refuses to go home. He's shaking so badly because of the cold, and he was even crying. What are we going to do?"

The maids are confused about how to handle Fot. The fact that he continued declining everything and wanting to stay there worries them so much.

However, they were taken aback when Gem unexpectedly appeared and gave them instructions. They expected him to become enraged with them for defying his earlier instruction to leave Fot alone.

"Get a towel fast and wait for me here." Gem said, rushing towards the gate.

The rain is pouring down heavily, but Gem didn't care. He hurried to get to the gate while it was raining. He opened the gate immediately and noticed Fot curled up in the corner. It's the loud cracks of thunder that make him whimper, and the cold rain that makes him tremble.

"What the hell are you still doing here?" Gem asked as he stood next to him.

Fot looked up, needing to slightly squint his eyes in order to make out who was speaking to him. He looked up at him swiftly after realizing it was Gem.

"B-because you told me to stay.. I.. I told you.. I'm willing to do everything.."

"So if I ask you to punch your face until I forgive you, you will do that?"

"Do you want me to?" Fot asked as he raised his fist.

"You're fucking unbelievable, do you know that?"

"I'm willing to do anything just to prove it to you."

"Go home, Fot."

"No! I would rather stay here!"

Fot stayed on the ground, his ears covered, to reduce the amount of sound he had to hear.

Gem finds Fot's stubbornness unbelievable. Even though it is obvious that he is terrified and trembling, he declined to leave.

So now, it is up to him to do something about it. He can't stay there.

Gem then slowly squatted next to Fot and carefully carried him in bridal style. Fot tried to resist at first because he thought he would be put away so he could leave the premises, but he was wrong when he saw him entering the gate and walked towards the house.
