Part 7

Fot has since made an effort to settle into his temporary home. He spends most of the day in the living room watching TV while Gem frequently leaves the house and occasionally goes with his Dad, Tinn is mostly in his room studying for his upcoming exams, their mom is busy preparing for her approaching fashion show and their dad is in various meetings.

He wants to get out, but his parents haven't yet sent his allowance money. He does not want to waste his remaining money. Additionally, he doesn't want to trouble Tinn or their driver.

Now that his boring weekend is over, it was time for school. Fot went downstairs for breakfast after getting ready for school.

This time, Tinn's and Gem's mother has joined them for breakfast in the dining room.

"Good morning, dear." Tinn's mom greeted with a sweet smile.

"Good morning." Fot said as he sat down across Gem.

"How is your stay here so far?" The mom asked.

"It's been great. I want to thank you again for helping me out." Fot said, before sipping from his cup of coffee.

"No problem. You are like my son now so anything you need, just tell me or Tinn and I'll do my best to help you, okay?"

Fot nodded, feeling all happy that their mom finds him like their son.

"Eat now or you'll both be late."

Fot began to eat his breakfast but he was surprised when he saw Gem already finished with his meal.

"I'm going now." Gem said and walked away.

Fot waved goodbye to their mother, quickly swallowed what he was eating, drank as much of his coffee as he could, and then followed Gem. If only he had known how early he was, he would have started early in getting ready as well. He doesn't want the driver to keep going around simply to pick him up again.

Fot followed Gem in getting into the car. He was still chewing while also trying to catch his breath. Gem didn't seem to mind and, as he always does, leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes.

Fot could hear his heartbeat on the way from their home to his school because it was so silent. When Gem's eyes are closed like that, he is unsure of how to start a discussion. While he rests his eyes, he can only gaze upon him.

Fot remained silent till they arrived at his school and had left. Por was shocked to see Fot waiting for him at the school entrance this time. He had been waiting for Por for about 30 minutes.

"It looks like you had a rough morning." Por said.

"I didn't know that Gem would be so early to come to work. I barely ate anything. I'm so hungry." Fot said while rubbing his stomach.

"Come on, let's go to the canteen." Por said, and they walked to the path to the canteen.

"I was with Gem in the car, but I didn't say anything. I don't know what to tell him. I am afraid we will just end up fighting." Fot informed.

"Don't worry. We will help you." Por assured him, and they went to the canteen before the class started.

In order to avoid upsetting anyone who was dropping him off at school or picking him up, Fot was considering walking towards his house and bringing his bike with him. However, it was too late when he noticed Tinn waving at him next to their car as soon as he exited the gate.

"Why do you look surprised to see me? I texted that we would fetch you." Tinn said.

"Oh I didn't check my phone yet. You really didn't have to pick me up. I could take my bike." Fot said.
